CRIMSON CLOUDS BLED INTO THE DARKNESS, a red light emitted from the orb illuminating the sky; the night of the blood moon. What was meant to be a joyous occasion of new life and birth, quickly became a hushed affair long before Amaris of Northern Water Tribe took her very first breath in the evening air.

Members of the Tribe could not know of the little girl born wearing only moonlight on her bare skin, for she would face a horrid and permanent fate. Homes were raided to find those that would only bring darkness upon the world, and during such times, the child was kept muted, muffled by her father's hand as he held the body of the woman he loved close to him, no more life in her chest.

Fifteen years later, Amaris is a beloved member of her tribe with a secret that weighs heavy on her shoulders and her heart. A child of the blood moon should never live past the first night, it is something she has always been told. And yet, her parents kept her alive and she believes their lies had ultimately led to the death of her mother. Believing she is possibly cursed, Amaris tries her hardest to prove otherwise, and when the Avatar steps his foot on the land of water, she sees her opportunity to manifest herself into something great.

However, like the pull the moon has on the tides, Amaris can feel something stirring inside of her, attempting to breach the surface. War is upon the great nations, but another brews within Amaris as she must fight to keep the darkness at bay. Should she fail, the darkest night will be upon all of them.

Hello! Welcome to my Zuko fic! I was given the plot by the lovely Val! I am so excited to write this book because I adore Amaris and her story! Blood Moon is heavily connected to my Sokka fic, Embers! So, the main OC in that book, Jasmine, will make a lot of appearances in this book and vice versa! I am so excited to write this fic and Zuko is honestly such a fave!

Act One starts at the end of season one! But, I will try to make it at least 10 chapters to develop the relationship Amaris with Katara, Sokka, and Aang! I have a lot of plans mixed in with Val's original plans for this story and I am so so excited to share them all with you guys! ❤️
