A's P.O.V

After a couple of hours everyone started leaving the prescient to head home for the night. Gina had to do a few errands for the Captain so I stayed to keep her company.. and also because, and I quote " If you leave I will lock you out of our apartment". So with that I had taken a seat next to her desk with one earphone in while she was rambling on about a new celebrity couple that had recently broken up. She had finished what she needed to do and Holt called her into his office.

It was so quiet in the prescient now it was empty so I closed my eyes and leaned back in my chair, allowing the music to engulf me. After a few minutes a tap on my shoulder made me jump out of my trance. I heard a slight chuckle and looked to my right to see Diaz chuckling at me. I just smiled and shook my head in response. Pulling out an earphone I asked "What's up Diaz?". She looked down at the floor and was hesitant before she spoke up "Thanks for agreeing to help with this case." she mumbled. "No problem Diaz. It's a nice change from college, trust me." I replied with a slight smile. Diaz smiled back. She passed me a neon sticky note, I furrowed my brows and she continued "Oh, um it's my number for ya know... case stuff" she mumbled while looking down. "Thanks Diaz, I'll use it wisely.". She gave me one last smirk and left the bullpen via the elevator.

Even after she left I stayed looking at the 11 digits written down with a smile stuck to my lips. "Damn, I haven't seen you smile this much since we went to watch Beyonce last year.". I hadn't even notice Gina was back at her desk, packing up her stuff to leave. "oh..uh...There is just a new lead in the case. This detective work is actually really fun".

"I know hun that's why I called you ! I'm happy you're enjoying it though. Now get your ass up, we're gonna miss The real Housewives." she nudged my shoulder causing me to get up grab my bag and join her in the elevator.
