A's P.O.V

After a few minutes I felt a hand on my shoulder which made me jump slightly. I quickly turned to them and ripped an earphone out, it was Gina. "Hey hun, meeting starts in a few and trust you don't want to be late. see yaaaaaaaaa" and with that she tapped my shoulder and left in the direction of the briefing room. After watching this encounter the rest of the squad was quite confused. Everyone was just looking at me as I got up, turned down my music and headed in the same direction that Gina just went.

I got to the briefing room and sat in a spare seat, which was next to Santiago. A few minuites into the briefing Santiago nuged me with her elbow causing me to turn and face her. I raised my eyebrows at her to get her to start talking. "So you and Gina huh?" at this I was really confused. She realised my furrowed brows and continued "What, she called you 'hun' and hasn't insulted you once since you had arrived.". I just leant back on my chair and replied in a monotone voice "She's the one who invited me here, she's my cousin.". With that I looked back at the front and continued jotting down notes about the case I was helping with. I heard Santiago mumble something before going up and giving the squad a briefing about the stuntman case. About 10 minutes into Amy talking I got bored causing my eyes to wander the room. They subconciously landed on Diaz. I'm not going to lie, Diaz was attractive. I didn't mind her closed off attitude because I was closed off too, it's easier that way. She probably sensed someone watching her since she turned in my direction. Our gazes met until I looked back at Amy and pretended to continue note taking.

Once the briefing was over me, Santiago and Diaz began planning our ambush on this dudes apartment building. I got myself a map and submerged myself in my music while i tried to plan and memorise the surrounding streets and the best driving routes to and from the building. I had been looking at the map, taking notes of routes and mumbling co-ordinates back to myself to get them memorised when someones snapping fingers caught my attention. I tugged out an earphone and looked at Santiago however, she looked back at me as if she wanted me to answer something. "Sorry what was that? I had my earphones in." I heard her sigh which made me roll my eyes. "She asked if you could stop mumbling, it's distracting" Diaz answered receiving a scoff from me in return. "Sorry." I mumbled and went back to my work.

A few hours later I had finished. Since I had memorised the routes and nearby streets I had gone over possible routes with Diaz and Santiago. "Okay, so we have two possible routes. We can either go down from the north via 3rd and 5th or enter via the East from 7th and park."

"The room has a north facing window so if we enter from the east he's less likely to spot us and the vehicle when parked." Diaz replied after a few minutes. Santiago nodded in agreement and I circled the route we can use. "If we head there at around noon we can blend into the rush hour traffic, he won't suspect anything if our car blends in with the others. Do either of you know where we can get a family car?" I ask while noting down our plan. "I do up old cars in the Summer so I can see if any of my partners have one we can borrow for cheap." replied Diaz. Both me and Santiago looked at each other with confused expressions as Diaz went to make a few calls.

"Hey, you're really good at this. What did you say your job was again?" Santiago asked as she turned her whole body to face me. "I didn't say Santiago." a few seconds of awkward silence went by until I spoke up again. "I didn't have a full time job because I'm taking college classes at the moment.". At this Amy made eye contact with me and sat up straighter. "What subject are you studying?" she asked, her eyes filled with curiosity. "Psychology" I replied and once again went back to my notebook hoping to avoid more questions. Moments later Diaz returned with an offer for a car which would be perfect for this. "So do you think that'll be okay to drive if a chase broke out?" she asked me when she sat back at her desk. "Should be good, thanks Diaz." I replied, looking up from my notes to look at her. "Yeah - no worries" she replied quickly looking down. I swear I saw her lips tug upwards and a faint blush cover her cheeks.
