After a week of sitting by Jungkook in class, talking to him barely at all, and seeing him around campus, Taehyung walked into class Monday morning knowing that he liked Jungkook. Had he ever had a crush on someone? No. Was he going to make a big deal about it? On the inside, yes, on the outside, no. Had he told Yoongi? Fuck no, he was terrified to do that.
Either way, he had come up with the plan to do nothing about his feelings, at least, not until after this class was over for the twelve weeks. He didn't want to be rejected then have to sit by him for the ten-week duration that was left. But just because he wasn't doing anything about his feelings with Jungkook, didn't mean he was on the market.
For the time being, he was rejecting dates. Yes, he was horny as hell and wanted to go out, but he felt that if he ever had a chance with Jungkook, it would be ruined one he knew how much of a playboy Taehyung continued being even after he realized his feelings. He felt Jungkook would be hurt, and the last thing he wanted to do was see that bunny smile leave his face.
So, he sat down beside Jungkook in class this morning as if everything was normal. Jungkook gave him a quick hi before going back to the book he was reading, which Taehyung found adorable. He gave him a small hi back before turning towards the front, as the teacher came in.
"Today, you will be starting a project that will last the rest of the trimester. You will present it on the last day of class", she said," I will assign you a partner and you both will learn all about each other's families, I'm talking like whole life story. You will then condense it into a half-hour to hour long presentation"
Taehyung froze when she said family. He wasn't telling anyone about his family and past. Yoongi was the only person who knew everything, Jimin just knew the bare basics: that he had come from a broken and abusive home.
Jungkook was never to know any of that and neither was anyone else. He didn't want to be pitied. In fact, that was probably the thing he wanted the least.
The teacher began calling out names of partners, Taehyung not hearing his yet. However, he had made the decision that he would just lie to whoever he got partnered with. What they don't know can't hurt them. Plus, Taehyung was a great story-teller aka lair.
"V, you'll be working with Jungkook", the teacher said.
Fuck.
Taehyung couldn't and wouldn't lie to Jungkook. It would ruin his chances completely. Plus, he didn't like lying to people he actually cared about. He wouldn't even lie to Jimin, though he would never admit the boy was like a brother, well, sister to him, almost as much as Yoongi was a brother.
After going over directions, which Taehyung barely listened to, she set them free to work for the rest of class. Jungkook turned to Taehyung.
"So, V, where do you wanna start?", he asked.
"I don't know, you pick", Taehyung mumbled, turning to face him some. He was not happy about this project.
"Well, how about your mom's pregnancy?", Jungkook asked.
"Why?", Taehyung asked.
"Because it's part of your family backstory", Jungkook giggled like it was the most obvious thing in the world," My mom said her was great. She said I barely made her morning sick, didn't make her miserable, and was very active and cute even before I came out"
"That's great", Taehyung mumbled, crossing his arms. His mother's was nothing like that.
"So, what about your moms?", Jungkook asked, tilting his head to the side in question just the slightest bit. It was adorable. Taehyung paused as he thought back to what his mother had told his aunt over the phone one night when he was younger. He wasn't supposed to hear, but he was a curious child, maybe too curious for his own good.

Su-An walked back into the hell she called home from a doctors appointment. She let out a sigh of relief when she didn't see Sehun in sight. Sitting down on the couch, she winced in pain. The doctor said she would be sore for a while, she always was after the sessions.
See, most pregnant women went to the OBGYN and doctor a few times throughout their pregnancy. Su-an went almost every day. They didn't even charge her anymore, to which she was grateful. It was something she couldn't help.
Sehun really didn't want the baby. He made that clearer and clearer every day he was in the house. He had ordered her to get an abortion, but she refused. She may have started resenting Sehun, but this was her baby too.
So, that's when the beatings started.
You may be asking; did he really try to beat the baby out of her? The sad answer was yes. She tried her hardest to fight back, to protect her stomach at all costs as she endured the beatings meant to kill her baby, maybe even her.
She had to go on the daily to make sure her baby, who would soon be known as Taehyung, was still alive and as well as he could be. By some miracle, he always was. The beatings continued through her nine months of pregnancy, never once getting easier or less critical, only getting harder and more dangerous.
She had no where to run to where he wouldn't find her. She had tried once... he had beat her so bad when he tracked her down that it almost killed both her and the baby. She couldn't risk that again.
The doctors tried to tell her to go to the police, but she refused each time, and they all knew why. Su-An was weak, unable to care for a baby. As soon as the police found out about the abuse and Su-An's weak state, her baby would be taken and put into foster care.
It may have been selfish of her to keep Taehyung, not putting him up for adoption where he might have had a better life, but he was all she had. He was the only thing keeping her alive and that would keep her fighting to live.
So, here she sat on the couch, hoping and praying that Sehun was dead and wouldn't be coming home. At the least, she hoped he would be on one of his drunken trips, gone for a week. This time, she was granted her wish.
She had a break for a week.

"V?", Jungkook asked, waving a hand in front of his face.
"What?", he asked, snapping out of the trance he had been in.
"Your mom's pregnancy? What was it like?", Jungkook asked.
"Oh... she never told me. It must have slipped her mind", Taehyung answered quickly. Jungkook was about to ask if Taehyung could just call and ask her, when the bell rang. Taehyung rushed out quicker then ever and ran to his dorm, where he locked himself in his room and cried for the rest of the night, only letting Yoongi in. Yoongi held Taehyung the rest of the night, telling him how everything would be okay, while Taehyung held Mr. Fuffles, whom he hadn't had to use in a while.
Those memories hadn't been brought up in a while, he had pushed them away and tried his hardest to escape them, but with this project...
There was no escape from them.
