i heard the soft sound of emily laughing. what a beautiful thing to wake up to. i opened my eyes to see annie and emily sitting on the bed across from me whispering. emily had on an orange shirt with black overalls and annie was still in her pajamas. i sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes.

"Lilia, you slept for ten hours! you missed first class. we leave for the second class in about thirty minutes." annie said getting off of emily's bed.

"really? why didn't you wake me up!" i asked emily.

"i'm sorry, you just looked so peaceful and...i don't know." emily said blushing.

i smiled and went to my closet. i pulled out a light navy blue long sleeved crop top with red, white and black stripes and some high waisted jeans. i grabbed my backpack and we all walked out the door. finn was walking out as well and we all got to walk together.

we reached our class and we all sat together. me and emily on one side of the table and annie and finn on the other. i got out my notebook and pencil. about thirty minutes into taking notes and starting a project, the door opened.

i started to choke from my own surprise of seeing him at this school. my hands started to feel sweaty and i felt my eyes burning and my stomach turning. emily looked at me.

"lils, are you okay?" she asked. i felt myself start to get sick.

"well, well, well...Lilia Buckingham? long time no see.."

you must be confused right now. honestly, i am too. but i'll clear it up for you. i first met tayler at the third school i went to, where i met millie. tayler was the school jock, someone who hated everything to do with everyone unless you were popular and stuck up. i had a girlfriend, her name was jill. we're still friends, she's the best. we just stopped liking each other in a romantic way.

tayler despised us. like i said, he hates everything. he was a bully. he bullied us. he made me feel terrible. i was scared to go anywhere because of him. the things he told me..i just couldn't do anything. millie was the one who stuck up for me. millie was kind of popular, so every time tayler said something she stood up to him. things escalated every day. that's the prominent reason i left that school.

my mouth felt dry. tears were starting to pour from my eyes and i felt myself start to get nauseous.

"i..i have to go." i got up from my seat and fled to the nearest bathroom. i opened one of the stalls and let out all of the sickness that built up. i started to sob into my shaking hands. i felt so cold. so scared.

"lilia! lilia, where are you?" i heard finn and emily yell. all i could do was keep crying. i'm here, i'm right here! i felt my brain scream but my mouth wasn't cooperating.

i heard the opening of stalls and then i saw two blurry figures standing in front of the stall door i was in. finn scooped me up and kaye's my head in his lap. emily laid beside of me, holding my hand.

"you're okay, it's okay lilia. shhh everything's going to be just fine." i heard them say.

i felt my heart start to slow to its original beat. i saw annie at the bottom of my feet with tears in her eyes. she was my sister now. finn was pulling my hair back into a ponytail and fanning me off with his hands. he was my brother now. emily was crying and holding me while kissing my forehead. she was my girlfriend now. i had a family here. and i was safe. i was okay. and i was going to be okay.

"let's get her home." finn said and annie nodded. i felt emily's tears fall on my shoulder. they had no idea what was going on but they were still so caring. i was so grateful to have them. annie helped me up but i couldn't stand. finn carried me and emily held my hand and told me funny stories the whole way to the dorm. annie called millie immediately and told her to get on the nearest plane to new york.

once we got to the dorm, finn laid me down on the couch and emily curled up next to me. annie went to the kitchen with finn and explained everything that happened to millie.

"lilia? annie and i just called millie. she's on her way here. you're safe now, okay?" finn said.

"thank you. you all have no idea what happened and you still care enough to help me. you have no idea how much that means to me." i said.

"there's nothing we wouldn't do for you lilia. i love you." emily said holding me a bit tighter. with that, i fell asleep.
