hyunjin nodded, "its the group medley."
"so all of them go on?"
he nodded, "i think theyre after this group."
i nodded, attempting to focus on the scene in front of me.
the group was just finishing up, their last member was going on and i watched how he progressively looked tired as he swam.
swimming competitively must be tough. i have skating lungs and im used to the burn in my lungs after every meet but this has to be worse.
i watched the boys stand up, mumbling things to themselves before they went on.
i had never seen any of them look as serious as they had now.
they got into position and i watched chan's head raise.
our eyes met and he smiled. i smiled back, thinking that was the end of it.
wrong, he ran to where we were and used the gate to pull himself up into our area.
my eyes widened, "what are you doing!"
"wish me good luck." he said simply.
"youre supposed to be on right now!" i told him.
"wish me good luck." he repeated.
"you cannot be serious."
"im completely serious." he smiled.
i could hear hyunjin laughing beside me and i hugged chan quickly, stuttering a "good luck" before shoving him lightly.
he smiled, hopped back down and ran back to his post. his friends were caught off guard and were starting to ask questions but he turned to them, reminding them to stay focused.
i tried to do the same.
it was back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly and freestyle. thats the order they'd go in. that at least i knew.
i waited for the relay to start, growing more anxious as i waited for it to begin.
"theyll do great." hyunjin whispered.
"i know, i wish they would just start though."
a couple seconds passed by and we heard the all too familiar, "three."
i clung to hyunjin, shaking him softly.
"two."
he held me back and we waited.
"one!"

i started screaming as loudly as i could, "minho!! go minho!!"
