coachella affair pt.20

3 years later;

Y/n's pov:

Today is the day that me and ethan are opening up a second restaurant.

I'm stressed.

The restaurant I worked at was finally passed down to me from my father and ethan and I worked up enough money to build a second restaurant it our name.

Ethans been clean for 3 years now and I couldn't have been more proud. Every time he was stressed or felt like he was stuck he never once thought of drugs and he always came to me.

He'd lay his head on my shoulder and just hold me, telling me everything he felt or what was bothering him. I didn't mind listening of course.

He trusted me and I trusted him.

"You ready?" I asked staring at the crowd in front of the restaurant, he placed his hand on my lower back.

"as ready as you are" he said softly.

I looked up at him with a smile before looking back at the crowd "on the count of three" my father said into the microphone. I took a deep breath and ethan kissed the top of my head as we began to count together.

"1...2...3!!" we cut the ribbon and everyone cheered as ethan picked me up with one arm and kissed my lips. I giggled as my father wasn't pleased with ethans actions. When ethan put me down and noticed my father wasn't pleased his face went red.

"he'll get used to it eventually cmon we have a restaurant to run" I smiled and assured ethan. I knew my father was just skeptical of ethans past, but once he knew how happy I was with ethan he'd come around.

"Right, lets just hope your father doesn't kill me before we get the chance to do so" he joked.

"shut up" I laughed at his stupid joke and smiled at the crowd "ready to open the doors?" I asked.

"I'm more than ready" he smiled and we opened the doors together. It wasn't long before business poured in, along with good reviews.

"Ethan we are blowing up out there" I smiled walking back into the kitchen since we were both helping serve tables on opening night.

"I know it's crazy princess I've had so many great compliments about this place" he said picking up two plates to swerve, "we did this" he said proudly and walked out to serve the tables I laughed and grabbed a plate to serve leaving to kitchen.

This place is amazing.

I see ethan smiling and talking to a family about the place, so I decided to join him "I hope he isn't bothering y'all" I teased as I put my arm around him, ethan laughed.

"this is my girlfriend y/n her and I decided to build and open this place together a while back" he kissed my temple proud of us and the restaurant.

"Nice to meet you miss" the family said and complimented us once again about the success of the restaurant, I was flooded with happiness. After talking to the family for a moment ethan got in the middle of the restaurant with a microphone.

"can I have everybody's attention?" He asked, everyone's eyes were on him including mine. "Can I have my lovely girlfriend over here please" he blushed a bit and I made my way over to him, I was a little nervous due to everyone having their eyes on us.

I'll be okay. Ethan's right here.

I repeated that thought in my head as I stood there for a moment, ethan began to talk into the microphone "y/n, we have been through everything together. I mean everything and you have not once given up on me, I put you through some unimaginable things and I truly regret everything, but now that we both have turned over a new leaf and have came this far" he got on one knee and I immediately began to cry.

He was proposing to me.

"In the honor of our success will you marry me?" He asked in front of hundreds of people, my heart pounded as I didn't hesitate to say yes.

Later on that night;

Me and ethan closed up the restaurant and collapsed in a booth "my feet hurt" I complained and ethan just chuckled.

"mine too" he also complained.

"I can't believe we are engaged and we got engaged in front of hundreds of people" I said looking at the beautiful ring.

"I can" ethan smiled and kissed my lips "ready to go home?" He asked me.

I shook my head no "give me a minute I want take one last look at everything" I said and scanned the restaurant. Ethan Laid his head on my shoulder and took the look of the restaurant with me. "I'm ready" I smiled ethan lifted his head up and grabbed my hand leading me to the car. "Ethan, I love you" I said randomly as he drove us to our shared home.

He smiled and grabbed my hand kissing it while watching the road "i love you too" he smiled as he gave me a quick glance.
