i've been sitting here all night. i miss my bed, not even going to lie, but i cant stand my mom. i already know that if i go home she's going to say 'i knew you couldn't stay a night out by yourself' because that's what she always says. this time i'll prove her wrong.
i stand up and start walking again. i walk towards the woods, why not adventure at 3 in the morning.
i walk around through the woods. it's beautiful in here at night, but it gives me the fucking creeps.
i walk around a little longer until i hear a branch break. maybe it's a deer. i keep walking and hear another one. i turn around and start walking out. i hear another branch break and start running.
i hear more footsteps running, i run as fast as i can and see a tall figure running at me.
i freeze up. this was such a bad idea. i should've stayed home. i'm literally about to get fucking killed.
i start running forward cause i don't see the figure anymore. something grabs my arm and i scream. another hand covers my mouth and starts taking me out of the woods.
i bite the persons hand, "ouch god damnit, i'm trying to help you," they say and let go of me as we exit the woods.
i look at the boy and see the same person who helped me with the guy earlier. he puts his hood up and starts to walk off.
"hey wait," i say and walk in front of him.
he walks around me.
"are you following me?" i ask and he stops walking and looks at me.
"nope, just happened to run into you twice in one night," he says.
"that sounded like sarcasm," i say.
"just stay out of the woods. especially those woods," he says and walks off.
i run up to him, "who are you?" i ask.
"no one you should worry about," he says.
i walk in front of him and stop, he stops too, "what?" he asks.
"why are you watching me?" i ask.
"who says i'm watching you?" he asks.
"me. i do. are you that stupid?" i ask.
"i'm not watching you, now leave me alone," he says and walks off.
"then why don't you stop fucking watching me and solving my problems for me," i say.
"okay," he says and keeps walking.
wow. what an asshole.
i walk away from the woods and walk back towards my house. i'm not going home, i just want to be close to home.
i sit down on the sidewalk and lean up against someone's fence. i'm starving.
i lean my head back and hear a door from behind me open. i jump up and look to see an older woman, "i'm sorry," i say.
"what's wrong dear," she says.
"i'll leave if you'd like ma'am, i'm sorry, i was just sitting here for a moment," i tell her.
she walks down from her porch and looks at me, "carmen's kid?" she asks.
how'd she know, "uh, yeah. you know my mom?"
"you look just like her," she says and smiles.
"oh," i say.
"please. come in dear," she says and opens the gate for me.
"are you sure?" i ask.
"of course, i know your mom, i know why you've probably run out, now get inside child, it's freezing out here," she says and gives me a little nudge inside.
"leslie, who did you bring inside," an older man says.
"shut up levi," she yells.
"oh you old bitty, who is it now," says an old man, around the same age as leslie.
"levi go back to bed," leslie says.
"who is this young lady?" he asks.
"this is annamaria, carmen's kid," leslie says.
"oh you poor dear. what happened?" he asked.
"levi, you cant just ask her that," she says and swats at him and gives me some tea.
"no it's okay," i say and smile.
"okay sweetheart," she says.
"well, my mom has had new men over every night and i'm tired of it because i'm trying to finish up my school work so i can graduate," i say.
"you can stay here darling," leslie says.
"les, you can't just invite someone else's kid over," levi says.
"she's 18, she can move in if she wants, it's her choice."
i laugh, they're so cute.
"uh, are you sure?" i ask.
"of course, we can help you with school work too," les says.
i smile. i guess i sat in front of the right house tonight.
