one day Annie was cleaning their hut's windows when she spotted something moving in the back of her eyes.
she shrugged it off as the freaks come out around the hut at night and it could be one of the curious ones.
she went in the hut, coming out minutes later, with a bowl of soup.
she sat the bowl on the front porch of the hut and went back inside for she herself also have to get ready for dinner.
the three sat on the dinner table, all numming down to Steven's kill, cooked with a tender heat of the bonfire.
a crunch sound crashed the silence, Annie released the meat looking at what she bit, a black eyeball with glowing, lilac veins all tangled up.
she threw it into the bin, thinking of how she should react now that he is numb of what the insides of almost any creature living and both dead.
" did you hear that? " Steven questioned with a concerned look.
" maybe one of the freaks munching down on their dinner " Annie shrugged off.
" i told you not to let the food out for them " Steven complained.
" as long as they're still alive and helpless they deserve a meal atleast once a day" Annie looked at her dinner furiously, seeing multiple of eyes popping our. " are you two kidding me?!! giving me the bad parts?!!" she shouted.
the head and the kelpie both chuckled showing the ' you just know that now?!' faces.
but then a bump on the door silenced all three of them.
Annie grabbed a nearby sword, Steven moved water from the nearby bucket that he used to survive, the head slowly walked towards the door.
he slowly turns the door nob but before he could fully open the door, it started shaking, the head released the nob, not opening the door.
the other side finally spoke " please help me' it whispered.
the three of them look at each other.
Annie rushed towards the nob, only stopped by a harsh pull of Steven's water.
" it must be a trick" he shouted, Annie pulled her hands.
" even if it is didnt, they're gunner die anyways"
Annie started dead in his eyes " if that was my reaction when i met you, you'd rot in lake"
Steven stepped back, shocked, loosing his powers.
Annie, now released, rushed towards the door, slamming it open.
a weak, frail figure fell down on the floor, breathing every few seconds, with the freaks biting on its legs, but ran away as soon as they saw the light inside the hut.
the three of them looked down at the creature now studying its shape.
it seemed to be a tin boy with antlers growing right out of his head, his body was covered with dark liquid as he shakes rapidly.
the black liquid seems to be coming out of his body and still flowing out onto the mossy carpet.
the creature can barely move its eyes, trying to look up seeing six eyes looking back at him.
he finally shuts his eyes.
