This is just a very short story I had to write for school. It's not really my style and its probably extremely boring...-_- but if u want to you can read it. If u do please tell me what you think! :)

I kicked a rock as I walked down the street. Glancing down at the papers in my hand,I sighed. Where could she be? "Kira!" I yelled,my eyes searching for the blob of white fur that was my dog. But nothing moved except the leaves blowing in the wind. Our dog,Kira, had just disappeared this morning when we let her out. She's never done that. My family thought she'd gotten hit by a car which wasn't unlikely where we live. She couldn't have gotten carried of by coyotes because of the because of the small but important fact that she is a Labrador, which means she's way bigger than any coyote could ever hope to be. Same with the other dogs in our neighborhood. They wouldn't pick a fight with her because she's so much bigger than any of them. So she either got hit by a car or she ran away. I don't see why she'd run away though. Then another option came to my mind. Someone could have taken her. But I don't see why. She's just an ordinary dog...right? It didn't feel the same back home now that she was gone. I admit she could be extremely annoying at times and sometimes I wish she was gone, but having her forcibly removed makes me realize how much that isn't true. She may only be a dog but I love her. We got Kira a few years ago and she quickly became a part of the family. Which is why I was walking down the street on this cold Saturday morning calling her name. But Kira was nowhere to be found. I stopped and stapled one of the papers in my hand to a wooden post. It was a flyer with Kira's description saying she was missing. Even though they probably won't do much good,I was putting them up anyway. I ran a hand through my long black hair and scanned the street. Kira where are you? I continued walking down the street calling her name every so often. Thirty minutes or so passed with no sign of her. I leaned against a tree and stared at the ground, willing the tears that were starting to cloud my vision to go away. Then suddenly a dog's bark tipped through the silence and I whirled around,my hand instinctively going to my right hip. A man I'd never seen before was standing there,Kira beside him. The man had jeans on and a black shirt. Nothing unusual. I grinned as Kira ran towards me. "Kira!" I exclaimed happily as she pounced on me,knocking me down. I laughed as she licked my face. "I'm glad to see you too" I told her as I sat up. I then remembered the man. I stood up quickly and turned to face him. Looking closer,I noticed one of the flyers in his hand. "Thank you" I said quietly,to which he nodded. "You're quite welcome. She was on the other side of town playing with some other dogs" He told me. I nodded and reached in my pocket. "Here. For your trouble" I said, pulling out the money I had on me,which wasn't much. He held up a hand. "No,keep it. It was no trouble at all" He said, smiling. "But..." I looked back at Kira, who was wagging her tail. "Don't you..." I trailed off as I turned back around. The man was gone. I spun in a circle, looking for him. But I didn't see him anywhere. I shook my head and looked down at Kira. "He just disappeared" I whispered. Kira jumped to her feet and turned back to me. After looking around once more,I followed her. We were going home.
