Serena's pov
today is her special day. Serena had been preparing for this day for months."Honey how does my dress look" Serena looked over to her soon to be husband for his opinion on the matter. he was silent for a moment thinking he didn't like it." it looks beautiful" he said while putting his hands on her cheek and pecking her lightly on the lips." thank you mark I needed that". he nodded a little before walking to the door and blew her a kiss which she blew back. When he was gone she had a few moments to think to herself while her mother was helping her into her wedding dress
"ill tell you, honey, you sure nabbed yourself a good hunk of a man" she teased and Serena laughed a little agreeing with her. with one last pull the dress was tightened and she was done with all her preparations ." thanks mom I'm just lucky I got to him before you could nab him up" she teased back witch earned her a light punch in the shoulder from her mother."oh hush, i would never do that to your father or well not until he died" she said playfully.
her mother held the mirror so she could see what she looked like when she turned around. when she did she felt a tear weld up in her eye. the silky white dress flowed down her body helping to compliment her tall lean figure. her long chocolate brown hair was tied up into a right bun. the wedding veil laid neatly over her hair allowing her greenish blue eyes to stand out from the rest of her face. she teared up a little seeing herself. they went sad tears but tears of joy knowing that today she would be joined together with her husband.
Serena met at an old country bar about 8 months ago. she had been drunk at the time and her friends managed to persuade her into hooking up with him. after a bit of talking they found out they had a lot in common so decided to start dating. they were great and everyone Serena knew thought so too. there was really only one person who didn't think so and it was marks ex girlfriend. they really did not talk about her because it was really uncomfortable for mark and she respected him enough not to. after only 5 months mark proposed and she was so happy and of coarse she accepted. now three months later and about 30,000 dollars in and its finally their day.
she was done getting ready and she could hear the piano beginning to play the iconic tune which she loved to hear. her father stepped in and smiled seeing her in the wedding dress."you look so beautiful Serena" he said and walked in. he was a tall man and was a little on the chubbier side thanks to not working after retirement. he had short brown hair that was greying and a thick grey beard that was neatly groomed for the occasion. he was wearing a big black suit and tie that was a little small and a pair of half circle reading glasses which were slightly cracked on one side.
Serena and her father interlocked arms and began walking out of the room and towards the main room of the church. she gave a short and simple prayer as they walked and looked around a little nervous for what was going to happen. her father stopped patted her arm lightly and smiled."no need to be nervous ill be with you the whole way through" he reassured her before they began waking again.
they stepped through the large wooden doors of the church. inside to their left was all of their friends and acquaintances and on the left was their family. two small girls walked alongside them as they slowly walked down the isle throwing flower petals to the sides. the harmonious piano played in a heart sweeping tune and she couldn't help but smile and let her worries float away. her friends and families watched with smiles on their faces some even tearing up.
her father left her side when she got to the stand taking his place beside her mother. Serena stepped up to the stand before facing mark. he was a well built man. he was tall and lean with bright blue eyes and jet black hair. he had a small starting of a beard which she found to be very nice for him. he wore a black suit and tie that was ironed as to not be filled with wrinkles. they looked at each other for a moment smiling happily
