Percy's POV
This cyclops was worse. Yeah, I just said that.
It looked worse, smelled worse, but somehow was also better than the last. It wore a leopard print loincloth. Its greasy matted hair was in a combover - the kind even grandpas would never wear. It was at least eight feet tall, much bigger than the last.
"I SMELL HALF-BLOOD! I EAT HALF-BLOOD!"
Well, at least it keep its priorities.
Then it charged. Luckily, cyclopes like this one seem to be like the Minotaur - once they're going, they're going. And trust me. I know from personal experience.
I sidestepped, like how my mother told me when I first fought the Minotaur when I was twelve. The cyclopses bellowed in anger and smashed some fence and a couple of cars. Dodged a flying Ford F-150 and slashed Riptide at the monster's wrist. I left a good sized cut, but I would have to get a good jab at the cyclops to kill it.
"Hey!"
I turned to see a redhead lady dressed in black. I vaguely recognized her. Hadn't she been on the news...?
The lady pulled out a gun. "Get out of here, kid! Your lacrosse stick going to do anything."
"Your gun won't either," I muttered under my breath. I knew this lady. Well, not exactly. I had heard stories of her from Camp. Floating cliff, and all that schist. I wasn't very happy these... ah... super heroes were here.
I ignored the new arrivals and dashed behind the cyclops, who was currently tossing cars at bow-man (I have no idea who these people's exact names are). I hitched a ride up the cyclops' arm and ended up its shoulder, where I slashed at the head, leaving a deep gash by the ear.
"I WANT HALF-BLOOOOOD!" it wailed as it crumbled to dust, its essence returning to Tartarus. I fell to the ground. My training kicked in, and I rolled on the impact, coming up standing. I turned, and a man dressed in a flag (I'm not kidding) came up to me.
"Hey, kid," he started, but I just capped Riptide and ran for it. I heard the Flag man, Bow man, and Redhead With Guns yelling and running after me. I ignored them and kept running.

I ran all the way to my apartment. I lost them after twenty minutes, but I didn't care. I kept going until I reached my Moms place.
"Hey Mom, I'm home!" I called shutting the front door. I heard the television droning from the living room. The scent of fresh baked cookies was coming from the kitchen.
Entering the kitchen I found my mother, Sally, pulling a sheet of freshly baked blue cookies. A plate was already cooling.
"You're home early," she remarked, handing me a cookie. I ate as quickly as possible, it was so good.
"Yeah, I know," I said, my mouth full.
My mom led me into the living room and pointed at the TV.
The news was on, showing the school. Cars littered the ground. A lot of the school was cracked and/or was crumbling. Bits of golden dust clung to the cars, and the concrete was blackened from explosions. My mom looked at me accusingly.
I shrugged. "I'm not going to let a bunch of hobo cyclopes destroy my school."
"Right. Hey, did you hear from Annabeth?" My mom changed the subject. Annabeth, my awesome girlfriend, was going to the same school as me. I hadn't thought she might've done anything during the attack.
"No," I admitted. "Maybe -"
Right on cue, my phone buzzed. Ok, usually Demigods don't have phone, because using one is like walking into a monster party with a sign that says "FREE FOOD". Lately, though, my friend Leo's made special phones that demigods can use without being killed.
I read the text from Annabeth: "Did you see the news?"
I replied: "Watching now."
I waited before she replied: "I killed two of them. Did you get the others?"
I typed: "Yeah. Some people showed up when I was fighting the last one."
Annabeth must've been typing a long reply. And she was, actually: "The news said that Black Widow, Captain America, and Hawkeye came to fight the creature when they discovered a teenaged boy with a lacrosse stick fighting the monster. They told him to stop, but he didn't listen and killed the monster. He ran off before they could ask questions. That was you, wasn't it?"
I didn't hesitate: "Yeah, that was me. Remind me who Black Widow, Captain America, and Hawkeye are?"
Annabeth answered: "Super heroes. They saved Manhattan while we were in Rome, then saved some other country while we were in... you know."
Tartarus, I thought, but I just replied: "So they're just a fake heroes that saved the earth while we were saving the earth from the earth?"
"Bingo." Annabeth texted back. "Hey, where are you? I'll drop by."
"I'm at my mom's." I replied.
"K." She responded, ending our conversation.

"So Leo, Jason and Piper trying to the seven and Nico and Reyna back together for ice cream on Saturday," Annabeth said.
"Oh, yeah? Who's coming?" I asked. We were sitting on the couch, a plate of blue cookies in front of us, and the TV on.
"Jason and Piper are, obviously, But Frank and Reyna are busy with praetor stuff, and Hazel wants to stay with Frank. I don't know about Nico," she said, glancing at the TV screen. "Leo's girlfriend, Claypso, is still learning how the world works with Chiron, so she won't be able to make it."
"Bummer," I smile. "At least Jason and Piper can make it. You are going, right?"
Annabeth shrugged. "Sure. But only if you go."
"Of course I'm going! I wouldn't miss it!" I nudge Annabeth. "Guess you're coming, Wise girl."
She grins. "See you tomorrow, then, at Jordan's Ice Cream Parlor. 12:30. Thanks for the cookies!"
