This lovely au was requested by @spencerharte (the tag won't work ?)  Anyways, I'll be addressing Deceit as Dee, as we don't know his name yet.
Tw: It'll be pretty angsty!
Ships: none! (Maybe Deemus, but not intentional lol)
!Spoiler warning for Intrusive Thoughts!

Remus sighed and opened the door to the stage. The first thing he noticed was the one person standing on the stage, his brother Roman. Why he had come here, you ask? Well, Remus had actually studied fish all his life, but he hadn't been able to find a job anywhere. So he had decided to come to his brother for help. You see, Roman was an actor. A pretty good actor actually. He was so good, that he was able to buy his own theatre, which he had done.

"And thus, I shall forever lay my eyes upon thee- REMUS!" Roman shouted. "What brings you here, brother?"
Remus scratched behind his head. "I wanted... Well I wanted to become an actor, like yourself!"

There was a short silence.
Then laughter. However, it was not Roman's powerful laugh, or Remus' maniacal laugh. No, the laugh came from the audience and it was a deep laugh.

"Dee, how great of you to show up," Roman groaned.
"To be honest, I've been sitting here the whole time. I love your monologue," Dee said as he rolled his eyes.
Roman started to blush. "Shut up, you snake."

"So, Roman, about being an actor-"
"Oh come on, R, you'll never be as good as our princey over here." Dee smiled. He had been in a fire some time ago, so now half of his face had a very bad burn mark.
Remus looked down, knowing very well that Dee was probably right.
"But-" Remus looked up. "I am willing to offer you a deal?"
"Deal? What kind of deal," Remus asked.

"I own a theatre myself, you know? I could use some actors."
"But you just said-" Remus began before being interrupted by Dee.
"HE- TUT- I said you'd never be as good as Roman, because you will be better than him. As Roman is a prince, you will be a duke. They have a higher rank."
"I don't think that-" Roman began, but Dee waved his hand and he kept silent.

"Roman would never make you better than himself. You'd always be worse than him, if you choose him over me."
"THAT'S NOT TRUE!" Roman strutted over towards where Dee and Remus were standing.

"So who are you gonna choose, my Duke? Him or me?" Dee smirked.
"Trust my brother... Or trust my dreams?" Remus looked down and started smiling. "My brother or my dreams!?"
Roman took a step back as Remus looked up. His eyes were different than normal, they were crazy. Remus had gone crazy.

"MY BROTHER OR MY DREAMS, DEE, WHADDAYA THINK?!" Remus' maniacal laughter filled the room. "WHADDAYA THINK."

He chose his dreams over his own brother.
