"It's not fair, you know." The Doctor said to his current companion, ____, as he spun around in an office chair he recently acquired for the TARDIS.
"What's not?" You asked absentmindedly, perched on a beam of the control room and too engrossed in your book to bother look up.
"One thousand, five hundred years, give or take a few, twelve regenerations AND NOT ONE TIME WAS I EVER A GINGER," He ranted, glaring furiously at you and your fabulous, "and then there are humans like you who live an average of 80 or so years and you are blessed with flaming red hair."
"Doctor, as unfortunate as that is, I have told you a thousand times, I will not apologize for being a ginger." You turned the page of her book, causing the Doctor to pout.
As far as companion-doctor relationships go, you and the Doctor's usually went swimmingly. You were all he could ask for in a comapanion. You were extraordinarily clever, quick to think on your feet, usually did what he asked of you (only refusing occasionally to mix things up a little), and, most importantly, (you were a ginger) you were always up for any adventure he threw at you. There was, however, one flaw that clawed and prodded at the Doctor's subconcious nearly every waking moment: you absolutely hated it when the Doctor saved you. He couldn't begin to fathom why. Sure, all of his companions had been independent to a certain degree, which was to be expected, but all in all, when they were out of their depth, they turned their hopes to him. Not you, however, oh no! He knew there must of been a reason _y/n_ tried to keep you distance, but he still wished you would trust him enough to let him at least know why you were as closed off as you are; however, he knew only time would allow _y/n_ to open up.
__Y/n__ threw down her book and groaned,"Doctor, I'm bored, fix it."
"You're on a spaceship that can travel throught all of time and relative dimensions in space and you're BORED?"
"...Yes..."
"Well, do you have a planet or time in mind?"
"But I don't feel like running for my life today, I'm too lazy."
"Well, what do you want to do?"
"Well, we could play a game."
"What?"
"Ooh we can play hide-and-seek I bet the TARDIS has tons of hiding places."
"I once again am going to remind you that you are on a SPACESHIP THAT CAN GO PRACTICALLY ANYWHERE."
"So, yes?" You asked, looking at him with her green puppy dog eyes.
"Fiine," He sighed dejectedly
"Yay!" ___cheered, "Okay, one game of hide and seek if you don't find me within an hour, I win."
"You do know you're supposed to be a grown woman, right?"
"Says the intergalactic five-year old."
"...Touche..."
"Okay, count to three hundred then you can start looking," You said as you scampered off, "And don't get the TARDIS to help you!!"
He chuckled before he started counting.
*Three hundred seconds later*
"Ready or not here I come." The Doctor said before he started looking for _y/n_ in each room. It took all of your willpower to not giggle from underneath the bed she hid under as he passed by the door.
"So where is she?" You heard the Doctor muse aloud, only to be answered by furious whirring.
"What do you mean you won't help me, we've been partners for thousands of years, she's been here for five." Once again met by whirring.
"I don't care if she made you promise, I will still pout and there's nothing you can do about it." He said as he continued to look. After a few minutes, the Doctor's footsteps seemed to fade away and you sighed in relief.
"Found you." A voice whispered by __'s ear as she was lifted into the air.
You shrieked,"What the bloody hell do you think you're doing?"
The Doctor unceremoniously tossed you onto the bed and asked,"Say, _y//n_, are you ticklish?"
"You wouldn't."
"Oh, but I would." He said as he started to tickled ___.
"Docto-AH, stop o-or I will defy gravity to kick y-you in the face!" ___said around giggles. Knowing you, the Doctor stopped before he got seriously maimed or injured, yet stayed where he was, straddling her.
His demeanor suddenly shifted from playful to serious as he looked you in the eyes. Before you could ask what what was going on, he leaned down and pressed his lips to yours. You realized they were much softer than you would've thought. He pulled away, slightly panicked.
"I am so sorry, ____! I should've just - I shouldn't of-" the Doctor started stumbling over his words, causing you to roll your eyes and pull him down by his jacket collar, effectively stopping with a kiss.
You pulled away, "Doctor?"
"Uhh, hmm?" He asked, still dazed.
"Shut up." As you kissed him again.
