I looked at Lexis one more time before standing up, "Dr. Stein" I said and he looked at me, "I have to go home now, please take good care of her" I said walking out of the room and closing the door behind me. Maka saw me and walked up to me, "So, how is she?" She asked referring to Lexis, "She is fine, but Dr. Stein says she will be just fine also" I said putting my hands in my pants pocket's, Maka nodded and she asked if I wanted to join her. "Where?" I asked, she looked straight ahead "To Lord Deaths office, he is gonna assign me to a mission" she said, I nodded and we started to walk to my fathers office.
-Maka's POV-
I saw Kid walking out of the ER of the school and I walked up to him, he looked sad. "So, how is she?" I asked about Lexis, Kid sighed "She is fine, but Dr. Stein says she will be fine too" he sighed shoving his hands in the front of his pants pocket's. I nodded and just looked ahead, "So do you want to join me?" I asked once again because I knew Kid was upset about something, "Where?" He asked looking over at me. "To Lord Deaths office, he is gonna assign me a mission" I said staring ahead again before I could finish my sentence. He nodded and we went to Lord Deaths office to get my mission, right when we walked through the door my father and Lord Death were talking. My father saw me and screamed like a little girl then running up to me and hugging me, picking me up in the hug. I was being crushed by my "fathers" hug and tried to get out of it, but he would not let me. "Hey hiiiii sup Kid?" Lord Death asked looking at Kid for a response from him, "I just came here with Maka" Kid said, then Lord Death and Kid looked at me, "Spirit" Lord Death said and then my so called father let me out of his hug. After all of that, I walked over to Lord Death and Kid, "Lord Death what is my mission you wanted to assign me on?" I asked being ready for whatever he wanted me to do for him today.
"Oh, that's right!" Lord Death said remembering what he was going to assign me today, I just stared at him, waiting for him to say what my mission was. "Your mission is to kill monsters that have been killing innocent people" I was shocked that he would assign me on something like this, my usually to guard something or defend something. "Where?" I asked making sure where it was so I could go do what I had to do, "In the south of Death City" He said. I nodded and bowed my head running out of his office looking for Soul, I finally found Soul and pulled on his arm, making him look at me. "What is it Maka?" He asked, "Lord Death just assigned us to a mission, and we have to go now!" I said yelling at him since he never listens to me anyways. "Where?" "In the south of Death City." Soul nodded and we took off running again. When we got there, we did not see anything so I looked around and heard some noise's. "Soul, weapon form" I said still looking around making sure nothing or no one would come out an attack me while my weapon is changing.
He finally changed into his weapon form and I grabbed him before he hit the ground, I kept on looking around and begun to walk in an alley. Soul and I kept on hearing noise's, so I kept my guard up. When the alley came to a dead end, I heard something behind me so I turned around to see a wolfman looking thing. I just stared at it in shock, I put my right foot back and was ready to attack at anytime if I had too. "Are you the thing that has been killing a lot of innocent people these last few day's?" I asked, the wolfman just came closer and closer to me, "Just attack him already!" Soul said kind of getting frustrated at what I was doing. The wolfman took out his claws and I was ready for it, it soon tried to attack me but I jumped out of the way in time and struck it in the back making it fall to the ground with a whimper. I landed on the ground with my knees bent and one hand on the ground, the one I was not holding Soul with. When I got up, I noticed that the wolfman was trying to get up, but I wanted him dead. Every one wanted him dead, so I kept on striking him until I knew he was dead.
I let out a breath of relief and let Soul turn back into his human form, "I don't like the way this place sounds or feel's....It feels creepy and the noise's sound like there are more of those things or other's" he said looking at me, I looked at him and nodded my head in agreement. I looked at the wolfman and turned around walking away, Soul fallowed me and soon caught up with me. "Do you think that was the only thing we had to kill?" He asked wondering if he should turn into his weapon form once again or not, I did not reply to his question and just kept on walking. I looked around the place three times just to make sure nothing I missed the first time was there, that no other animal thing nor human of any sorts was there besides Soul and I. I did not see anything so I turned to look at Soul, "Well, it looks like we can go back to the academy" Soul nodded and we walked back to the DWMA.
Soul was about to turn a corner to go else where, I grabbed his shoulder and he just looked at me with a questioning look on his face. "We have to go tell Lord Death now" I said, "Fine" Soul said and we both walked to Lord Death's office to let him know that the thing he wanted dead, is now dead. We walked into his office to find him staring at himself in his mirror, I walked behind him and he noticed me turning around, Soul walked up and stood beside me "Hiiiiii hello hey you two! Did you finish the mission I asked of you?" Lord Death asked and we shook our heads yes. "Great, so what happened?" He asked and I spoke up, "Well, when we got there it was silent, but then there were noise's. But again no one was there, so then I had Soul in my hands, in his weapon form. We came down an empty alley and then we ended up at a dead end and a thing.....I think it was a wolfman came up behind us and just looked at me, then he took out his claws and tried to attack me, but I jumped out of the way and stuck it in the back. I noticed it was trying to get up, so I kept on striking him until I knew he was dead" I told Lord Death, he was happy that the thing that was killing innocent people is finally dead.
"Good job Maka and Soul!" Lord Death said and gave us a peace sign, I bowed and Soul did not say or do anything. We left and bumped into Marie, we said our hello's, talked for a few minutes then we said our goodbyes and left going both way's. "Hey Soul and Maka" Black Star said and Soul and I turned around, "Hello" I said and Soul just laid back against the wall just staring at the both of us. I looked at Soul, then back at Black Star "So what are you doing?" I asked trying to strike up a conversation, he shrugged his shoulders and just looked at me with a blank expression on his face. "Oh" was all I said and Black Star nodded and was about to say something before Tsubaki came running over to him shouting his name. She stopped and tried to catch her breath before going on about what she needed him for, "Tsubaki, what's wrong?" Black Star said and I just stared at her. "L-l-lexis!" She said trying to catch her breath again, Black Star, Soul and I looked at her confused, "What about Lexis?" I said, "She is r-r-r-ready to come home!" She said, again we all looked confused as if that was a bad thing, "And is that bad or good?" Soul asked, "Bad, because she can't walk and she only remembers a few things. Anything else she does not remember scares her into hiding!!!" After Tsubaki said that we all took off running, she was left alone so she sighed and just started to run again, then she begun to walk since she was really outta breath. When we reached her door in the ER, we found Dr. Stein standing next to Lexis trying to figure out what happened to her. We slowly walked in, "So, I see you heard the news?" He asked and we all shook our heads yes, Dr. Stein looked up at us, "She will be fine in a day or two, she just needs a lot of rest" he said. All four of us nodded and I spoke up, "What about Kid? Does he know about Lexis yet?" I asked confused and shocked, he thought for a moment and shook his head.
