Promises

Chapter One

Megan was sleeping soundly when sunlight suddenly streamed into her room...

            “Owww!!!” she groaned as she rubbed her sleepy eyes, still refusing to open them. “Travis! Cover the windows back!!!”

            Travis chuckled as he gave in to his mate’s demand and climbed into bed with her, wrapping his strong arms around her. She sighed and sunk back into his chest so that he was spooning her.

            “Did you enjoy last night...” Travis whispered into her ear and she smiled to herself, eyes still closed as she answered him.

            “Yes honey... I enjoyed last night... But it could have been better...” she teased him and next thing she knew, Travis was hovering on top of her, his hands supporting him, placed beside her shoulders so he doesn’t crush her with his weight.

            “You wanna go for another round so I can prove you wrong...” he challenged as he bent down his head so his lips was touching hers.

            Megan moaned softly and kissed him back. Travis took the opportunity to enter his tongue into her mouth and after a while, Megan pulled herself away from the kiss, both of them panting.

            “Why do you always have that effect on me...” Megan whined as Travis buried his face in her neck and licked the bite mark he made on her...

            “Cause’ you’re my soul mate and that’s why I’m the only one who can make you feel this way...” Travis smirked at her and she beat his shoulder as she pushed his face away from the mark on her neck.

            “Stop it!” she squealed, blushing from his comment.

            Travis chuckled and kissed her forehead.

            “Travis... Can I ask you something...” Megan asked, looking into his dark brown eyes with those mesmerizing emerald eyes of hers...

            “Go ahead baby...” he urged gently and she smiled at him nervously.

            “You know... We’ve been together for 4 years right...” she said then stopped for awhile before continuing. “And I was thinking... About... Settling down with you...”

            Travis sucked in a breath between his teeth. He was met with a disappointed look by Megan from his reaction.

            “You don’t want to get married and have children with me?” she asked in a small voice and Travis’s eyes hardened at her as he kissed her lips roughly with passion before pulling away.

            “Don’t you ever say that I don’t want a future with you! Of course I do but remember I always tell you one step at a time...” he replied her gently and Megan bit her lower lip before questioning him again.

            “But it’s already 4 years!” she protested. “Waiting for you to mark me felt like forever and only just yesterday you marked me! What’s holding you back Travis???”

            It broke Travis’s heart to see his mate’s eyes welling up with tears because she thinks he doesn’t want to be with her. He kissed away her tears.

            “Honey, listen to me. I always want you it’s just... I need time... I need to plan how to introduce you as a new Luna to my pack...” he explained gently to her. “Most of them might not be accepting or used to the idea of a human as their Luna that’s why I need some time...”

            Megan swallowed back her tears.

            “But how much longer...” she whispered sadly.

            “I don’t know but soon alright...” he urged her softly.

            She sighed before asking another question.

            “Can I ask you a question Travis?”

            Travis raised an eyebrow and looked at her.

            “Yea what baby?”

            “Will I always be yours???” Megan asked with hope shining in her eyes.

            Travis smiled at her with so much love.

            “Well the question is... Will I always be yours?” he asked back and Megan frowned at him.

            “But I asked you the question first!” she pouted.

            Travis shrugged his shoulder.

            “Well yea but you didn’t ask me to answer first.” he stated.

            Megan pouted again then looked into his deep brown eyes.

            “I’ll always be yours as long as you want me to...” she whispered.

            Travis smiled at her and neared his lips to hers again.

            “And I’ll always be yours even if you don’t want me to...” he spoke against her lips and felt his mate smiling against him before he kissed her passionately...
