I got home that night for Edd to have disappeared. I panicked and searched everywhere. No trace, no signal, no warning.
The note from the first night was on my pillow, however. On the other side was a new message:
"You thought you were safe, but I stole what you treasured the most: Edd. Call me twisted but I have to stick to my quota by stealing people's treasure -- no matter what.
Love from, Edd."
And, that's how the thief stole my most treasured possession. They made themselves that and took it away from me. My heart burned. Everything was numb.
"Thank you for the temporary happiness," I screamed out into the night. Surely, they couldn't have gone far yet. I just wanted to at least thank them for teaching me what happiness is, even if they were the one who destroyed it.
Edd, wherever you are, if you're even reading this, please. Come back.

Short StoryLike a cat in the night, he swiftly went to my house and wandered through my open window. That July night is the one I remember, because it's the night he stole the thing I loved the most. I don't want him to give it back.
