Gajeel's POV
"Who let him join?" demanded Natsu.
"Listen, I didn't have anything to do so I decided to join. Makarov decided to let me. It's not like I actually like you losers," I lied.
I don't want them figuring out my weaknesses or my wish to have friends...I don't even need them...
"Juvia is so happy to be with Gray-sama!" Juvia squealed.
Juvia sure likes Gray...I wonder what it would be like to fall in love...
"Hey, I forgive him. He may have hurt me but he deserves a second chance, isn't that right?" that blue haired girl smiled.
"Look I don't need your help, shrimp. I don't really deserve a second chance," I replied.
"My name is Levy McGarden!" she yelled. "Try to be nice, okay?"
Nice...I hurt them...I can't be nice...I don't think I have it in me...do I? It's all I thought about for the last week while I applied here...I don't deserve love or forgiveness...

Levy's POV
I could think of a million outcomes and all of them were bad.
"I know my grandfather let you here, but I don't really like that decision," Laxus said.
Laxus was hurting Gajeel in front of Evergreen, Bickslow and Freed.
He could fight back, but he isn't....maybe he's trying to show us that he is sorry? He doesn't deserve this, though. He's clearly sorry...
"Hey, stop this! Can't we just be nice?" I pleaded.
"Now your asking for it!" Laxus said angrily.
I prepared for a lot of hurting, but when I opened my eyes, there was Gajeel shielding me.
He really did that. Why? I guess he is different than I thought...like someone in a story, trying to redeem himself...kind of like the Beast, but this isn't a love story...no way!
I was flattered but I would let him know that.
"Thanks, I guess," I said, after everyone but us were gone.
"No problem, I'm trying to be a better person. Want to...talk?" he asked.
"About what?"
"Hmmm....what do you like to do?"
"I like to read," I told him.
"That's kind of lame, y'know, shrimp!" Gajeel laughed.
"Hey! Don't be rude!"

"Why are you being nice to him anyway, Levy?" asked Jet.
"Yeah, Levy, why?" Droy agreed.
"Everyone deserves a second chance, why not Gajeel?"
"Well try to hang out with us, okay? We are your friends!"
