Silver sighed and tried to free himself the shackles at his arms and legs. No luck. How had they got caught? It had been a routine op, a convey raid. Gold launching magical blasts and himself and Ebony going into close range with the Metal Cannons, high powered side arms that shoot condensed metal, to take the supplies. But it was a trap. Gem Hounds and Gem Soldiers burst from the boxes, taking them by surprise. Then the shackles. Silver hated chains and bindings. Then they had been loaded into the wagon to be carted off to jail, likely execution. Looking at Gold and Ebony, he whispered silently. "Any plans to escape?" He asks, nervousness audible in his voice. "No. We're doomed." Gold muttered, staring at the ground. He was wearing a black business suit withe a white dress shirt and red tie that surprisingly went well with his golden hair, kept in a sloppy spiked look, and brown eyes. "Gold, you can't be serious!" Ebony spoke up, eyes alight in rage. His black hair was a mess of a style, and his eyes were literally red. He wore a black shirt with some band on it over his dark jeans. Silver himself looked at his own clothes, a gray hoodie and blue jeans with his brown hair spiked in the front and his blue eyes the color of the sky. He sighed. Looks would be nothing if they had no heads. Silver looked at Gold and also joined in with Lucas. "You can't be joking Gold. We've been in worse situations and we've gotten out. What's the plan?"

Gold shook his head. "We can't escape. These cuffs cancel out my magic. There is no way for us to break out. We're doomed." Gold voice was dark, and to Silver, it sounded like conformation of their deaths. "How would they know about your magic? It's impossible!" No, he thought, it's not if Topaz tipped off the soldiers about Gold. "No way Topaz would have..." Ebony started but trailed off, because he knew Topaz would do just that. Ebony struggled with his chains, but even his brute strength couldn't break them. "Stop! Just, stop. We're dead. The rebellion will likely die off. It's over. We've lost." Gold's voice was dead, all light gone from it. He was staring at the floor as drops of liquids fell from his face, and his body was racked with a terrible shudder. For the first time in years, Silver and Ebony saw their leader cry. Saw Gold, their unbreakable, uncrushable leader, utterly beaten and broken. "I lead us to our death! I got us caught! I lead us to our doom! You all deserve better then this, to be lead to a podium and have your head roll! This my fault! I killed the rebellion!" Gold yelled, slamming his hands into the bench he sat on, the sobs now racking his body. Silver sat dumbfounded, staring his hands in their shackles. He didn't know what to do. Ebony started to open his mouth but shut it. Suddenly the cart jerked to a halt. "We're here maggots! Get moving!" The guard had moved around to the back and now was now herding the three of them into a stone building. Stone? Gems don't usually use stone, must be a far reaching outpost, Silver thought, his eyes scanning it. No clear weaknesses. Gold would see this too. Great. Just what he would need to see. Silver shot a glance over his shoulder. Gold had straightened up. He was a good actor, showing no weakness to the Gems. He would die showing strength. At least they still had that.

A few hours later, they all were sitting in a cell, likely just a holding area until their cells were fully ready. Gold stood near the cell door at the entrance of the room, sulking as Ebony and Silver tried to work ways out of the cuffs. No good. They were enchanted with some seriously strong magics to prevent breaking. Silver tried to stay optimistic, but even he was finding it hard to stay cheery in this situation. Suddenly Gold shouted and a loud clatter sounded. Something had just destroyed the cell door that was in their way. A man in what looked like a black trench coat stood there, but it was hard to make out his facial details, strange, since the room was well lit. He suddenly was standing in front of Gold, almost like he teleported. He pointed at the cuffs on Gold's wrists, and suddenly they broke. Same with the ones on his ankles. The man did the same to Silver and Ebony, but from across the room. Then the man motioned for them to leave from the room and vanished. There was a dead silence for long while, but then Ebony spoke up. "Who was that?" Gold shook his head, looking like he was trying to clear his head before looking at them both. "He said he was... an element..." Gold said, walking over to the both of them from across the room. "An element? No way, he couldn't have been. Maybe a rouge Gem with strong magic but... an element? Doubt worthy." Silver said, shaking his head. "Anyway, he left the door open. I think we should leave." Silver started for the door, but Gold grabbed his arm. "Hold up. With that much ruckus, guards might be coming. Go ahead and float above the door out of sight, and surprise the first one when they come in. Me and Ebony will handle the rest when they come, but a weapon would be plenty nice." Gold had gone back to his tactician mind set, already calculating plans to escape. This was the Gold that Silver and Ebony knew.

The plan went without a hitch. One guard came running down the hallway to check on the high value prisoners. A swift drop kick later and he was down. Unconscious, the guard was stripped of his weapons. Two guns. A standard Gem Rifle and a Gem Pistol. Gold threw the pistol to Silver and the rifle to Ebony. Gold clicked his fingers and sparks flew from his fingers. "Let's go then.
