VIII

I opened my eyes and stretched myself. I groaned when I saw that I slept in yesterday's clothes. I hate when that happens.

I got up from my bed and went to my closet.

I wanted to take shorts but.. I didn't really want to show my legs so I just grabbed grey jogging pants and a black hoodie.

I took off my leggings, my top and put on some new underwear, the jogging pants and the black hoodie. I also took off my bra because I didn't see the need to wear it today.

I went downstairs and wanted to turn back to my room but it was too late.

"Come back here, young lady."

"Mom I-" she cut me off.

"There's no 'mom I'. Why did you sneak out yesterday?!"

"Mom I didn't sneak out. I just went for a walk."

"I remind you that you almost lost half of your memory!! You forgot the surrounding! What if you would have been lost!? Or if someone would have kidnapped you!? Did you thought about this!?"

"I'm sorry, ok!? I just needed to go for a walk! Ugh, whatever!"

Before she could say something else I went upstairs to my room. I closed my door and went to sit on my bed. I'm done with everything.

**2 hours later**

I opened my eyes when I heard someone knock on my door. I looked at my clock. 2.23 pm.

When did I fall asleep again?

I shook my head and went to open the door.

"What are you doing here?" I frowned when I saw Shawn.

"I have to take you somewhere."

"Shawn I.. I don't want to go outside today. I don't feel too good."

"I give you 20 minutes to get ready. I'll be downstairs." He smiled and completely ignored what I just said.

I sighed and decided to get ready. I put on some black jeans, a bra and a white t-shirt. I also changed my hair into a ponytail. I was too lazy to put makeup on so I just went downstairs.

"Shawn talked with me and you can go out with him." My mom told me.

"Thanks." I rolled my eyes.

"Maddie has to be here before 5 pm, ok?" My mom looked at Shawn.

"Yes, ma'am."

"Bye, mom." I said and went out of the house. "So where are we going?" I asked when Shawn opened his car.

"First we are going to Starbucks to order your favourite drink and something to eat cause your mom told me that you didn't eat anything today yet and then it's a surprise."

"Shawn I'm not hungry." I said, putting my seatbelt on.

"Maddie, you have to eat something. Point." I rolled my eyes.

After 10 minutes Shawn stopped his car on the Starbucks parking.

"How do you know my favourite drink?" I looked at him.

"I remember that one night when we got to know each other better, you told me that your favourite drink of all time is The Pink Purple Drink." He smiled at me.

How many calories does that have?

We went into the building and we directly went to order.

"Hello, how can I help you?" The young man smiled at us.

"May I order a venti Pink Purple Drink and an Iced Coffee with almond milk?" Shawn asked.

"Sure, your names?" The young man asked.

"Maddie and Shawn."

"$7.90, please"

I was about to take my wallet but Shawn was faster and paid for us.

"Have a good day." Shawn said and we went to sit somewhere.

"I could pay for myself." I said.

"You don't have to pay when you are with me."

"Don't say that. I feel like I'm using you for money when you say that." He laughed.

"Maddie, it was only $7.90. It's fine, really."

"Well.. thank you then." I slightly smiled.

"OH MY GOD!! ARE YOU SHAWN MENDES!!" We heard a girl scream and then Shawn was getting hugged by someone. "I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!"

"I love you too but stop screaming, honey." Shawn said.

"Can I have a picture?" She asked and Shawn nodded.

Shawn got up from his chair and smiled at the phone.

"Thank you so much!! Have a good day!!" She smiled.

"Thanks, you too." He sits back on his chair. "Sorry about that."

"Don't worry, it's ok." I smiled.

"I have to go really quick to the bathroom. I'll be right back." He said.

I was sitting, lost in my thoughts when suddenly someone throws his fists on my table. I jumped and looked at the person. It was the girl from the picture.

"Listen to me. You're fat and ugly and honestly, I think that Shawn is with you just for attention. Everyone is now talking about you cause you were caught more than once with Shawn and then the poor Maddie got into a car accident. Media's love talking about others private love life so they keep talking about you two so Shawn uses this opportunity to gain more popularity. But when everyone will forget about you, he will leave you and forget that you even existed. So don't lose your time sweetheart and just leave him alone. He deserves way better." She smirked at me and flipped her hair. "Oh and remember my name. Sofia. Sofia. You will hear of me one day."

With tears in my eyes, I went out the Starbucks.

She is probably right, who would be even interested in a girl like me? No one and especially not a famous singer.

"Maddie? Maddie what's wrong?!" I turned around and saw Shawn with the 2 drinks in his hands.

"Drive me home." I said, going to his car.

"But.." I cut him off.

"Drive me home!!" He sighed and opened his car.

The ride was silent until Shawn decided to speak up.

"Can you please tell me what happened?" He asked, looking at me for a sec.

"Nothing." I was looking trough the window.

We were finally next to my house. I went out of the car and was about to open the door but Shawn grabbed my arm.

"Please tell me what did I do wrong." His voice cracks and he has tears in his eyes.

"You took time to know me, that's what you did wrong."
