Chapter Three - Lone Gun

After getting the job from Overhaul, Snipe along with Rappa and Tengai ride for the UA Fort to confront Aizawa. On the way there, Snipe begins gathering Intel.

Snipe: So how come Overhaul didn't send a posse to take out Aizawa? Seems a lot of trouble for one lawman.

Tengai: Overhaul has better things to worry about then a lawman like Aizawa.

Rappa: Why don't you stop asking questions?! Overhaul's not paying for to ask questions.

Snipe: Easy partner. Just a little curious. That's all.

Rappa: Why don't you shut the fuck up?!

Snipe: Nice to see your momma raised a gentleman. Do you kiss her with that mouth?

Rappa: I said shut the fuck up!

Tengai: Enough! We're here.

Snipe and Overhaul's men soon reach the old UA Fort. Snipe approaches the entrance while Rappa and Tengai wait behind cover.

Snipe: Shota Aizawa! We got business to take care of!

As Snipe said that, a shot rang out from the fort. The bullet hit the ground in front of Snipe, but he didn't flinch an inch. Rappa and Tengai aim their Winchester Rifles towards the fort. 

Tengai: What the hell are you doing?!

Snipe: That was a warning shot. Wasn't it Aizawa?!

After a moment of silence, Aizawa begins to speak.

Aizawa: What the hell do you want?!

Rappa: We're here to deliver a message from Overhaul, you little cocksucker! 

Snipe: Shut the fuck up! Leave it to me! 

After calming down the situation, Snipe begins to talk with Aizawa. 

Snipe: It doesn't have to end in violence partner! I just came here to talk! 

Tengai: You came here to put a bullet in that bastard! 

Rappa: I told you this cocksucker wasn't the right name for the job! 

Snipe: Fuck this.

Snipe then turns around and quick draws on both Rappa and Tengai, shooting them down. After killing the two, he holsters the Revolver and turns back to the fort.

Snipe: Should've kept your damn mouths shut. Aizawa! You're gonna let me in or am I gonna have to let myself in?

Aizawa: You're not with Overhaul?

Snipe: I wouldn't have shot the two idiots I was with otherwise. 

Aizawa: Who sent you? 

Snipe: Captain Nezu. He said you'd be my contact in that hellhole. 

As Snipe said that, the gates to the fort opened as Aizawa greeted the masked gunslinger.

Aizawa: So you're the one Nezu sent? Been waiting for you.

Snipe: I expected to find you in Musutafu. Clearly wasn't the case. Now crack open a bottle of whiskey. 

Once the two enter the fort, Aizawa grabs two glasses and a bottle of whiskey and set a table up. As they begin to drink, Snipe begins to ask Aizawa about the job.

Snipe: Tell me about Overhaul and his operations.

Aizawa: A few months back, Overhaul and the Shie Hassaikai discovered a huge gold claim on the town. After that, Overhaul quickly took control of the town. Any government official who wasn't bought and paid for by Overhaul were hunted down and silenced. I requested government assistance and you know the rest.

Snipe: You seem to know the ins and outs of Overhaul's operations. Care to explain?

Aizawa: I have an informant feeding me information about Overhaul and the goings of Shie Hassaikai's operations. Nemuri Kayama.

The Masked Gunslinger immediately recognized the name.

Snipe: Lady Midnight.

Aizawa: You know her?

Snipe: I know her. I talked to her before meeting Overhaul. Great for conversation. Now what's Overhaul's girl doing working for a lawman working for the Government? Seems like an odd pairing.

Aizawa: She's Overhaul's personal whore. There's no love between of them. She's been feeding me information for weeks. She's the reason why I'm not dead. 

Snipe: She took a fancy to me. Maybe it's because I'm such a handsome devil.

Aizawa chuckles at the gunslinger's comments. He then realizes that he was in a predicament regarding both Aizawa and Overhaul.

Snipe: Looks like I'm going back to Overhaul empty handed.

Aizawa: I'm going to assume that it has to do with me.

Snipe: That and the fact that I just shot down two of his guys. That's gonna make for awkward conversation. 

Realizing that Snipe's deception could be compromised, Aizawa comes up with a plan.

Aizawa: Go back to Overhaul. Tell him that when you reached the fort, I was already gone. And as for Overhaul's guys, say you were ambushed by a band of Apaches on the way back. I'll hide the bodies once you leave.

Snipe: Sounds like quite the plan. I'll be seeing you around partner. 

As Snipe prepared to leave, Aizawa stopped him.

Aizawa: Take this. Give it to Lady Midnight. Don't let anyone see you. 

Snipe: Noted. I'm a sly one. 

After speaking with Aizawa, Snipe returns to Musutafu and goes to the Blind Horse where he speaks with Overhaul.

Overhaul: Did you get Aizawa?

Snipe: Afraid not. He was long gone by the time we got here.

Overhaul: Fucking coward. What about Rappa and Tengai? Didn't see them come back with you. What happened?

Snipe: Got ambushed by a band of Apaches. They got the jump on us. Rappa and Tengai were killed in the process. I was able to get away.

Overhaul: Well ain't that a shame. Well why don't you stick around Snipe? You look like the kinda guy who could use a good time. 

Snipe: Much obliged Overhaul. I'll take you up on that offer. 

Overhaul: Go to the bar! Tell the bartender that drinks are on me!

Snipe: Mighty kind of you Overhaul. 

Snipe then tips his hat to Overhaul as he exits his office and proceeds to drink. As he drinks, Lady Midnight walks up to him.

Midnight: Welcome back cowboy. Nice to see you come back.

Snipe: Nice to see you too, Lady Midnight. 

Snipe then slips Midnight the letter. Unknown to the both of them, Kurono spots this. He enters Overhaul's office to inform him of what he's seen.

Overhaul: What is it Kurono?

Kurono: It seems Snipe isn't what he seems. I saw him slip a letter to your woman.

Upon hearing this, Overhaul became angry, but soon calmed himself. 

Overhaul: Wait until night falls. Then we'll go about questioning that son of a bitch!

Overhaul soon sets a plan in motion that would bear his wrath upon the unsuspecting gunslinger.
