Chapter Four - Shots Fired

After meeting up with Aizawa, Snipe rests up in a room at the Blind Dragon. As he sleeps in his bed, Overhaul and a group of men wait outside his door. Overhaul then loads his Winchester Rifle and kicks in the door. Before Snipe could react, Overhaul and his men pointed their guns at Snipe.

Snipe: What's the big idea Overhaul?!

Overhaul: You get your hands where I can see it, you goddamn Government agent!

As Overhaul aimed his Winchester Rifle at Snipe, the Masked Gunslinger quickly realized that he was compromised. He couldn't reach for his gun. 

Snipe: Shit.

Overhaul: Not only are you working with that fucking lawman, but you're also screwing around with my girl. You got anything to say for yourself?

Snipe smiled at the danger from his mask while Overhaul aimed his rifle. 

Snipe: Guess you got me dead to rights, partner.

Overhaul: Sakaki! Take this backstabbing cocksucker to the cells! We'll figure out what do do with him later!

Sakaki: Got it boss!

Sakaki then smacked Snipe with the butt of his pistol and knocked him out. Moments later, Snipe wakes up in a cell. 

Snipe: Damn it.....

Sakaki: HEY! Shut the fuck up! 

Snipe snickers as he checks around the cell for a way out. He looked towards Sakaki and saw him drinking himself blind. As he looked around, he sees Lady Midnight in the cell window. Snipe walks to the window and the two begin whispering to each other.

Midnight: Looks like you're in a bad predicament cowboy.

Snipe: Guess I am. 

Midnight: Who's watching you?

Snipe: Some damn drunkard drinking himself dry. 

Midnight: Good. He'll have the keys off him. Try to get his attention and get those keys. Once you're free, meet me by the gate. 

Snipe: Got it ma'am.

Midnight soon left the window, leaving Snipe to plan his escape. He knew he had to get out fast or else he was a dead man. He then calls out to the drunk Sakaki.

Snipe: Hey! Get your ass up!

Sakaki: Shut the fuck up and let me drink! 

Snipe: Or what? You gonna kill me?

Sakaki: I said shut the fuck up you fucking cocksucker!

Sakaki then throws an empty whisky bottle at the bars of Snipe's cell. Snipe continues to goad the drunk into making a move. Eventually, Sakaki angrily walks to the cell and pulls out a Revolver from his holster.

Sakaki: I'm getting real fucking tired of you running your mouth!

Snipe: Then let me help you out with that.

Snipe then pulls the Revolver out of Sakaki's hand and shoots him in the head. Knowing that the gunfire would attract Overhaul's attention, Snipe looted Sakaki's body and took the keys off of him. Once he unlocks his cell, he gets out and gathers his equipment. He then exits the jail and meets up with Lady Midnight on a horse.

Midnight: What took you so long? I heard a gunshot.

Snipe: Don't worry about that. 

Meanwhile at his office, Overhaul ponders what he's going to do with Snipe. Kurono soon enters the office.

Kurono: Lady Midnight is missing.

Overhaul: Son of a fucking whore.......

Kurono: But we managed to find this.

Kurono then hands the letter Overhaul the letter. He reads the letter revealing that Lady Midnight was working with Aizawa and that she was giving information to Aizawa about the operations on Musutafu.

Kurono: We can only assume that the bounty hunter didn't kill Aizawa. 

Overhaul then grips the paper in his hands in anger. Reading that his personal whore was using him for information greatly angered him. But as Overhaul processed this information, a gunshot was heard. Overhaul quickly realized what that was.

Overhaul: Son of a bitch! 

Overhaul then grabs his Winchester Rifle and runs out of his office. Meanwhile, Snipe then hears a commotion coming in the direction behind them. 

Snipe: Looks like we got company. 

Midnight: Let's get out of here!

Snipe got on the horse with Midnight and began riding away. As they ride away, Overhaul reaches the gate and sees the two riding away.

Overhaul: You're a dead man Snipe! YOU HEAR ME?! YOU'RE A FUCKING DEAD MAN! 

Overhaul then takes his Winchester Rifle and aims it at the fleeing Snipe. He holds his breath and pulls the trigger. The bullet rips through the wind and hits Snipe in the side.

Snipe: AAARRRGGGHHH!!!

Midnight: Snipe!

Snipe: Don't......stop.....keep riding!

Midnight does as Snipe says and keeps riding. Overhaul cocked his Winchester Rifle and takes aim once more. Before he could fire, they were far from his range. He lowered his Rifle and turned to Kurono in frustration. 

Kurono: Shall I assemble a posse? They'll most likely be meeting up with Aizawa at the old UA Fort.

Overhaul: No. I don't want to waste any more manpower on a wild goose chase. Call in the Phantom Killer.

Upon hearing that, Kurono was left hesitant, knowing the reputation of the Phantom Killer. 

Kurono: Are you sure that's the best course of action? Remember the last time we hired a bounty hunter.

Overhaul: The Phantom Killer will find them. If Snipe isn't dead, then the Phantom Killer will make sure he dies. Aizawa will soon follow. As for Lady Midnight, she'll pay for fucking with me. Now get me the Phantom Killer!

Kurono: I will send a telegram at once.

Overhaul then returns to his office while Kurono prepares to contact the Phantom Killer for the job of hunting Snipe, Lady Midnight and Aizawa. In the meantime, Snipe is left seriously injured by Overhaul's shot. Shots were fired as Snipe's job to kill Overhaul became complicated with matters that made this job far from easy.
