I had met Cinder before, but never had a full conversation with her. Her dark grey top coat and white undercoat glistened in the sun. Her flower crown, bandana, and leg warmers all matched her fierce emerald eyes.

"So you killed them?" Cinder addressed Via and I.

I stuttered, but Via answered confidently.

"Yes, we did. And they deserved it."

Cinder sighed but didn't try and argue.

"Just..." she thought carefully. "Be careful. You've started some serious problems now."

"I'm sorry," I murmured.

"Don't be. Just choose your battles wisely," Cinder replied.

"We do," Via growled.

Cinder shrugged. I was rather surprised about how calm she was. She was basically the queen of sled dogs. I expected her to be furious about dogs attacking each other. Instead she seemed more entertained.

Via and I walked away in silence, but for different reasons. Via was dripping in satisfaction. I, on the other hand, was confused and worried.

Had we started something bad? How serious could this feud get? Who will Cinder side with?

I worried. A lot. And it certainly took its toll on me.
