CHAPTER TWO

UNKNOWN LOCATION

  | MY HEAD POUNDED SO MUCH.
All I could see was darkness apart from the slightest bit of light that came through the window, which was more of an opening with bars that went across it.

I felt the presence of someone as I was leaned up against the wall. There was some light that had barely lit up the room, but it is night time so of course it wouldn't be the greatest lighting.

"Wakey wakey, princess." A unfamiliar voice said, and I hear footsteps coming down the stone steps that lead down to where I am.

"Don't you call me that," I said weakly.

"Eh, too late now, ain't it princess?" He said and glared at me. I glare back in annoyance, and I quickly realize that I'm chained.

I tug and hear the chains rattle.

"Sorry princess." He said softly and smirked devilishly. He looked at me head to toe before he had picked me up and pinned me against the cobblestone wall.

"Get the hell off of me!" I exclaim to him.

"Jason! We don't need to be doin anything to her yet, Colm wants to see his daughter." Some man exclaimed from up top.

I glared at Jason who then shrugged with a small, toothy grin. "Next time," he said in a low tone and then winked at me with us cloudy eyes. I spat towards him.

"Dirty animals," I muttered softly.

After a couple of hours had passed, I felt myself become more and more weak by the minute. My attempts at escaping were slowly failing, and I was not sure of what to do now. There was nothing around me to help me get out of this place. It smelled like blood, dirt, and a very disgusting odor. For all I know, it might as well be me.

"Welcome home, sweetheart." A way too familiar voice said from the top of the stairs.

"Get the hell away from me you disgusting animal!" I scream towards Colm, who came down and approached me.

"Honey, you're home," he said with a sadistic and twisted smile on his face.

"No, I'm not. My home is for sure not with you," I say, holding back the tears that threatened to escape.

"But you don't know that." Colm said as he turned and grabbed canned beans, a small bowl, and a spoon.

"Please, just let me go." I whisper softly, my voice cracking. A lot of anger and sadness pulsed through me like lightning striking the ground.

"I can't do that," Colm declared as he turned and looked at me. He got to eye level with me and began stuffing the food into my mouth. I screamed out of embarrassment and many other things, and then attempted to escape the grasp he put on me.

Within the next thirty minutes of those events, I had fallen asleep. I had been knocked out by something Colm put in the beans, but I'm not sure what it was.

"Colm!" A voice exclaimed from outside. I had been moved to a wagon with metal bars, which kept me inside. My hands are also tied behind my back, preventing me from escaping.

I look around to see four others; three other girls and one man.

"Dutch," Colm said as he climbed out of the wagon.

"Where's the girl?" Dutch questioned.

"Which one?" Colm then asked, a slight smile on his face.

I look around only to see there is no way out, and then I sigh in frustration. All I'm thinking of is how I'm going to escape. Or am I even going to escape?

"The one you favor the most," Dutch replies with a wild smirk on his face.

Feeling the presence of someone else, I turn towards the door of the barred cage that is attached to the wagon to see a man approaching us. I feel myself begin to tremble. I'm unsure if this man was gonna hurt us.

One of the other girls almost began screaming but the man brought his finger to his lips to say, shush or be quiet. The girl obliged. Everyone is as scared as I am.

The man began picking the lock when it all went down. His blue gaze focused heavily on the lock. Gunshots were heard, and I tried to get a view of what was happened. My dad had disappeared, leaving his men behind.

Pathetic bastard, I thought. He was no man.

Soon giving up, the man at the lock had grabbed his handgun and shot the lock open. Quickly, all of us inside rose and jumped out, the man then untied our hands.

"Run as far away as you can, you hear?" The man demanded and looked at all of us. The others nodded and did as they were told.

"Give me one of your guns." I demanded.

"What?!" The man exclaimed.

"I said, give me one of your guns," I repeated and glared at him.
