01 | UNDERCOVER - "I'll approach you stealthily without anyone knowing"The lights in the room flickered only leaving a glimpse of the baseball bats littered around. The crimson color of blood was tainted everywhere, reminding the grave mistake the hostage had committed.
At every flicker of light, his detained body winced, awaiting his worst nightmare. He wasn't surprised by the treatment that he received because he knew that avoiding it was inevitable. His motive was to save his roommate; to avoid her from being the target of any impending disgraces after the incident gets publicized, to grant justice for her shattered soul.
It sounded much more approachable and right in his mind than when in action. Nevertheless, what's done was done so even if the plan backfired, he had no regrets. The door squeaked open in an excruciating fashion. The captive flinched with the sudden sound that lingered longer than it should. His head rose, trying to make out the person who entered.
"On the lookout for me?" A voice whispered to the detainee's ear. With no energy left in him to react, he laughed lightly.
A dark aura complimented the captor as he rounded up to his hostage. His dark eyebrows were arched as his hands were placed at either side of his hip.
"Are you finding something funny here Sam? But guess what, the joke was on you. Always on you." He reached out to bunch a fist of Sam's tattered shirt and brought him closer, making the rope tied around his abdomen dig deeper. Groaning with pain, Sam struggled to escape.
"Look who's getting the last laugh now."
Laughter boomed through the room as the male fell on his knees, one hand wrapped around his stomach while the other mockingly pointed at Sam.
"Accept it already kid," He snarled, getting back on his feet. "I've heard about this little friend of yours too. You wouldn't want me to have my way with her, yeah?"
Sam jerked his sunken head back up, digesting the newfound information. His features resembled nothing of Hostage Sam but rather, seemed to have embraced the elements of his captor. Sam's eyes shine with sudden fury. His struggle to get at least an inch closer to his captor became rampant.
Amused by how little he had to say for Sam to react, the captor backed away from him so he could take time to admire the masterpiece in front of him. "She's that important to you, isn't she?"
"Is it never enough for you beasts? You disgust me."
"Oh. It sucks, doesn't it? When you're there, tied up and helpless while the world moves on? When you do so much to appease someone and they don't give you enough credit? When you have so much to say and they don't fucking give two shits about it?"
Sam quirked his left eyebrow as confusion pooled into his mind. "What are you fucking talking about?"
He looked at Sam with an emotion he had felt for him from the time he caught him. Envy. He couldn't hold it in anymore.
"You know, I feel happy for you right now.""Why? Because you're getting rid of The One That Got Away?"
"Don't flatter yourself that much. It's just that I envy you. The world's much worse than the credit we give it. And you can escape it. You get to abandon all this. Just go and leave this shit hole behind."
Sam shook his head from one side to the other at a slower pace muttering a "You're crazy."
The captor moved from Sam's line of vision as he patted his shoulder. "You're one lucky dude."
"Hardly."
The captor whistled, ushering the ten bulky men who were stationed outside the room back in. This was the moment that Sam dreaded.
Throwing a backward glance at Sam, the corners of his mouth lifted. He emitted a low chuckle and lifted his index and middle finger at Sam.
"Finish him."
