"You shouldn't have left the two together," a voice commented, as they waited out the storm. The faes eyes looked over two humans who were huddled together for warmth, bickering between themselves. They were both on course to the god Tyreol. One to for his personal harem and one for the dungeons. They were hungry for new blood to consume. Only this was wrong and Filo knew it.
"Why? The girl's just a slave. The boy might as well enjoy his last few hours of daylight," the other voice commented, a cruel edge to it.
"He is going to find out one day, you know. That you stopped choosing souls who deserved this, and choose souls who still had connections because you desired them," Filo warned his companion. Filo couldn't tell. Curiaso was part of his home court. Revealing the fae's deception would be a betrayal of blood. That didn't mean Filo had to like what was happening but there were other ways to get the truth out. Like picking a friend who was proof the damned boy did not suit criteria.
"We still do," Curiaso defended, "But what's the matter with having the odd one who is actually attractive?" It was greed which was leading him to go against the rules. Greed and desire. He wanted pretty whores to sell out. Most of the humans with ugly souls were ugly themselves. Which had led him to start picking up the odd one who didn't technically deserve the life. He picked carefully, connections who were unlikely to come after them. Curiaso knew the day Tyreol discovered his lies, he would be punished greatly. But the God had never denied him a whore before and he doubt he would now. The god was used to training his tributes out of former attachments and ways of thought. Even if the tribute and the whore had a connection, Tyreol didn't let his tributes contact the people they left behind. He was safe.
Filo hummed, looked over the young man. He was old enough. The dungeon master had never broken the rules on age. They had to be at least 20 but this one was likely just scraping that line. At a glance you wouldn't think it. It was his scent which gave him away as young. He was broad shouldered, well-muscled, likely from doing farm work but not overly so. He had large hands as well. He could see why the dungeon master would likely those. His face was handsome to some degree, not the sort which guaranteed being put in front of Lord Tyreol. His hair was brown, cut in an interesting fashion, long bangs at the front, before short at the back. His eyes were an odd colour though, something which had the aide feeling unease.
"He's a fair looker, I'll give you that," Filo allowed. If the man had just been a servant, Filo would have happily tried to seduce him into bed for a night or two.
"The girl's beautiful, but then I guess Tyreol has always like having pretty slaves running about," Curiaso purred, his eyes running over the girl's face. "When she's given her assignment, I'll have to try and play with her at some point." Filo resisted the urge to growl, that would give the game away. The dungeon master didn't know it yet, but the girl was due for Tyreol personal harem, so it was no surprise she was beautiful. Large brown eyes which looked around golden. Short yellow hair which hung around his neck daintily. She was small too. Compact. No taller than 5 foot 5. But she was young yet at 16, she might still grow a touch more.
The aide smiled to himself, settling in as the storm showed no signs of stopping. He was not able to tell of the dungeon master's crimes but he could perhaps get them into the open. These two humans already had a bond. Not in the magical sense, but in the friendship sense. She would ask after him and Tyreol would realise someone with connections to his own harem was in the pit. The dungeon master knew they were friends but didn't care. Too used to destroying bonds to take much note of them anymore.
Perhaps now, things would start to change for the better. Filo just hoped his plan worked in time before the boy lost his mind down there.
