Jack felt contented the next morning, stretching out next to his sleeping Master and basing in the afterglow of a good night. His new master was not selfish in bed. If that was what serving him was going to be like, he'd happily jump into the man's bed for a good time. Tyreol had seemed pleased with him too. It warmed his heart and he smiled uncontrollably into the pillow. Maybe what he had been through had come in handy after all.
Then the memory of Luke interrupting came back and his smile faded. He hadn't seen the man's face but the tone had been enough. He didn't buy Tyreol explanation that it wasn't about the fact Tyreol had fucked Jack. Luke disliked Jack. Even in this kind of situation that had to hurt a little.
"Damage control time," he muttered darkly, sitting up and finding his clothes. Luke seemed determined to stay as long as possible and if that was the case, Jack needed to make a better relationship than the one they had now. Or he'd end up back in the situation he had escaped from. They didn't need to be best friends, just civil and most likely able to perform together. At least Luke played with both Tyreol and Edmund together so maybe having sex in groups was a thing? Jack rubbed the back of his neck.
Something wasn't right about Luke. Jack had been treating him like a mature adult but it was fast becoming clear that he wasn't that. His eyes were too young, he wasn't a child but more late teens maybe earlier twenties than firmly in the middle where most turned immortals were. Naive and easily hurt over the smallest slights. It was time to try treating Luke like he would a younger friend than someone who was older than him.
Jack closed his eyes and let the scent of Tyreol wash over him. Last night had been good. He was not going to let Luke spoil that for him. He smiled as the memories moved through him again and stood up proud. He made his way to the tributes room.
Silas and Abel were getting along this morning, as Jack slipped through the doors. The two conspiring together about something in the corner. Paul was laughing with Anna about something, the girl shyly passing him a bowl as he sat. Julia was talking peacefully with Christopher as he carved a new spoon, from the looks of the thing in his hands. Things were looking brighter. Edmund's hand ran over his shoulders before Edmund sat next to him with a knowing grin.
"Have fun last night?" Edmund was no idiot, he knew just what he had been getting up to with their Lord. Jack's beam in return asked the question. "I'm glad." Edmund chuckled, nudging him in the rips. Jack complained lightly and pushed back.
"It was fantastic and Master is so," Jack leaned heavily on Edmund, the man holding him easily. "Loving. Never had a partner so attentive." Jack's grin was wide and genuine, a rosy glow on his cheeks. Edmund couldn't help but grin back. Just because his first time with the god had been rough, did not mean the times after had been. Tyreol liked to spoil his partners.
"Surprising, isn't it?" Edmund purred, against Jack's ear.
Jack hummed in agreement, "It was almost perfect. But Luke appeared at the end and ruined it," He frowned, "It was a little sad actually."
"Ah, fuck," Edmund cursed softly. He had somehow forgotten about the fact Luke had gone to give Tyreol his gift. Luke had not come back, nor appeared in Edmund's bed so Edmund had assumed it had gone well but if Tyreol had been fucking Jack, he clenched his fist and tightened his hold on Jack. "I forgot those two events would coincide. What happened?"
