It's been over 2 months since they returned from the trip and Oge had been acting as if nothing actually happened between her and Aisha. She treated Aisha as someone she barely knew and with all honesty, that wasn't far from the truth. She doesn't even make eye contact with her and any time she had any meeting that involved her, she made sure she acted very professional about it and God, she did it effortlessly and that made Aisha very sad.
Aisha on the other hand had been devastated, she didn't ever imagine that Oge would treat her and their situation like this. 'What a heartless person', she once thought to herself. Aisha felt like she was whining like a child so she decided to shake off the feelings and no matter how many times she tried, it was beyond impossible. She had never been this affected by a woman before and she had no idea on what's going on with her. She sees her every day and often wondered what was going through her head and how Oge could act so oblivious.
"It's so cliche" Aisha spoke to her friend Tunde. She had been narrating all what had happened to Tunde for the past one hour. He was a good listener and Aisha loved him cause of that, coupled with the fact that he was one of the few people that knows that she's gay. She went on and on and after she was done telling him everything that had happened, she looked at him and noticed some sort of shock on his face.
"Can I speak now?" Tunde asked.
"Hmm hmm" was all Aisha could say.
Tunde went on, "I'm always glad that you see me as one of those people you could actually talk to and you know I'm always here for you for anything Aisha. I have known you for a very long time and cause of that, I understand you completely. I don't know what went wrong with you because you clearly know how pointless it is to mess with straight women, and the fact that you're doing that right now doesn't speak well of you"
Aisha listened closely, even though those words burnt her a bit, she knew he was right. She had always been the one boasting to Tunde about how she would rather sleep with a man before she falls for a straight woman and yet, there they were.
"You're gonna get hurt, Aisha you know this. You'll be the one to get hurt" Tunde said sadly.
It's always a dead end, you know how complicated and messed up it is and I wonder what's going through your head for you to be acting this way. You're sounding like a puppy and I don't find nagging sexy at all. What did you think would happen after sleeping with her? You thought she was gonna want to be your girlfriend ?" Just when Aisha was beginning to yield to all what Tunde was saying, he surprisingly spoke..
"Yet, I have never seen you speak this way about a woman and for that, there could be something here" Tunde concluded.
He knew Aisha was a rational woman and he knew she wouldn't do anything stupid in the process. Aisha was always the brightest among them and that wasn't just limited to the class room but life in general and he respected her for that. That night when Aisha got home, she was lying on her bed thinking deeply and after a while, she decided to call Oge. It was something she knew wouldn't be too reasonable but she just wanted to speak to her and it was an urge she didn't intend to push aside.
The phone rang once, twice and on the third ring Oge picked. They never had the personal mobile number of the CEO but she had gotten it when they went on that trip.
"Hello?" Oge spoke from the other end. Her tone was mixed with both fear and confidence so Aisha couldn't place it.
"Hello, I ermmm shouldn't be calling you and I hope I didn't catch you at the wrong time but I wanted to ask you if you'll be free to hang see me tomorrow Saturday?" Aisha paused but when Oge didn't say anything she continued, "I really wanna talk to you about a lot of things that's been going on with me and I know it isn't work related so you are under no obligation to honor this invitation" Aisha stopped and just as she was about to speak again she was cut off by Oge.
"No, let's see right now" Oge's voice sounded very calm.
"Okay, I'll come and pick you up" Aisha replied without thinking much about how sudden It all was.
It was around 10pm and from where Aisha stayed to where Oge was staying was about 20 minutes drive but she didn't care. She got into her car and just as she was about starting the engine and at the same time signaling her gate man to open the gate, she got a text from Oge suggesting she sends her home address so she'll come over using an Uber. Aisha didn't understand why Oge wanted to see her so badly and she knew she probably should have insisted that it was late but the fact that she badly wanted to see this woman also, coupled with the fact she didn't know when next she'll have an opportunity like this, she simply texted Oge her address but was still seated in her car.
Roughly after 30 minutes, she saw her gateman standing up to go answer the gate, and since she had already told him that she was expecting someone, he easily allowed her in. Oge thanked the gateman but didn't move an inch from where she was standing.Note
