-Conscious! She's conscious, loud voices are shouting at each other. Pain shot up my arm as they pinch me with needles. I opened my eyes to a bright white light. After a minute of adjusting I simply glare angrily at it. Angry at it for bringing me back to the pain. I wanted the dark back. The soothing and protecting darkness. My body hurt and my throat burned. People we're leaning over me, talking to me, sticking needles into my arms and playing around with different machines. I just wanted them to go away. I had been so peaceful until the light had come.

-How are you feeling Hun? A blond woman asked as she helped me sit up. I looked around the room. It was all very dull and boring. The ceiling and walls were white and there was only a single picture in the room. It was not very interesting either, a dog in a market. Though I must admit that it was very colorful. I was lying on a hospital bed with white bed-sheets. On my right there was a heart-monitor and on my left a bed-side table with a fluffy stuffed chess pawn. I leaned back and sighted, it was a hospital room. I had stayed in one when I had taken away my appendix. Except that one was bigger, with pillows, colorful posters and at least seven more kids. Even if it looked very nice I had hated it. The kids were always resting or sleeping and wouldn't talk to me. And the nurses wouldn't allow me to talk much because I might disturb the others. The blond woman gently shook my shoulder as she saw the annoyance on my face.

-Are you okay? She asked. I was about to answer as *BAM!* the door was slammed open and a woman came running in followed by two boys. One brown-haired one about four or five and the other one black-haired maybe fifteen or sixteen.

-Honey are you okay? The woman asked as she engulfed me in a bone-crushing hug.

-I'm fine, I croaked as she slowly loosened her grip on me. But who are you? The woman pulled away clearly shocked, as tears started forming in her eyes.

-Don't you remember me? I'm your mother. Those were the last words I heard before the darkness surrounded me.
