Max woke up the next day to her little brother jumping on her mattress.

"M-Mikey!" she exclaimed at the boy with a raspy voice, but it was all useless. "MIKEY!!" she caught her hype brother's hand and aggressively sat him down.

"I wanna go play with Eugene today," he said after they got up "I'm gonna win this time!" Max sighed as the boy followed her to the bathroom.

"Nope" she replied, gently pushing her brother outside the bathroom "We just went yesterday" she smiled, shutting him out.

Max sat in algebra class, thinking about how lucky she is to be friends with an actual superhero and how cool it was to keep his secret. She looked at the board that was full of equations, but she wasn't focusing. Her mind was rather busy thinking of something else.

"MAX MITCHELL!" the teacher yelled as the whole class swiveled to look at the ashamed girl "your daydreaming can be done some other time." he continued strictly while the class laughed at her.

The bell rang, telling the students that it was the lunch period. Max sat on an empty table and started thinking about something else.

"You need to stop daydreaming in class, Max," she said. "It's embarrassing and unnecessary"

That was one of Max's pet peeves. Talking to herself. She only did talk to herself when she's alone so that she wouldn't get caught and called "crazy" unless she was with her brother. He's the only one who wouldn't judge her for it. She didn't understand the concept of being called crazy for talking to yourself. She wasn't crazy, but she really felt like there wasn't anyone to talk to, so she just did it herself.

She got interrupted by a tray being slammed on the table she was sitting on. She looked up to see a girl her age sitting next to her. She had tall, dirty blonde hair and big hazel eyes. She offered Max a smile as she awkwardly returned it.

"Hey!" she said brightly "I'm new here"

"Oh," she chuckled nervously, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

"I was just wondering if you wanna be friends," the girl said, "It's totally fine if you don't!"

"Course!" Max returned "I'm Max"

"Rachel!"

Max and Mikey finally got home after a boring day at school. The girl collapsed on her bed as her brother started telling her about his day. He would usually do this that Max has gotten used to it. She didn't listen. she just thought about how someone actually wanted to be friends with her.

She picked her phone and looked at the notification.

Freddy added you to "Super-Nerds!"

she smiled, clicking on it. She'd assumed it's a group chat with her, Freddy and Billy, and she was correct.

Billy: uh uh

Freddy: mhM

Billy: nO

Freddy: YES!!

Billy: skittles were always better

Freddy: M&M'S!!

Billy: SKITTLES!

Freddy: U G H

"wow," she whispered, laughing at the two.

Me: C H I L D R E N

Freddy: :))
Billy: don't call me that

Me: Who named the group chat?

Billy: Freddy

Freddy: you are going to jail if you tell me we aren't nerds.

Me: whY did you even make this group chat? aren't you like brothers?

Freddy: Billy's not home

Billy: I'm not home

Me: oh yeah, you must be saving the day

Billy: stop it

Me: it would be awkward to see a grown man with a superhero suit just standing there, texting someone

Billy: STOP IT

Freddy: HAHAHAHAHAH

Me: okay but I just made a friend

Freddy: Oh

Freddy: is iT a hE

Me: wHy aRe YoU aSkiNg

Freddy: just curious?

Me: it's a she

Freddy: that's dope :)

Me: Yup!!

Freddy: but idc about her

Freddy: I was your friend first

Freddy: jk don't come at me pls

Me: ofc you were!

Me: I would be so lonely without you and Billy

Me: and I met a superhero because of you! how cool is that?

Freddy: I'm touched.

Me: FREDDY!!

Freddy: lmfaoo

Me: where is he tho

Freddy: he probably got bored of us lol

Me: I'll just go to eat now
