I walk back into the bathroom looking for Dexter and Skye. They were taking too long, I’m not going to sit here all night and wait. I push the old wooden door of the dirty rest stop bathroom. Dexter stood there, covered in thick, gooey, cherry red blood. I stop and stare.
“What is all over you? Is that blood? Why are you covered in blood?” I ask worriedly, he is my brother. “Are you okay? What happened?”
All Dexter does is point at the floor; he’s not usually this silent or pulled back. This elfin, golden-haired, young looking girl is laying there, on the floor, just bathed in blood. I’m amazed; it all seems to be coming from her head, although she does have little scrapes and cuts all over her arms, like she fell or something. “This is Aubrey, I don’t know what to do she fell asleep as she was talking to me. Can you call an ambulance or something please? She’s a very nice girl. I’m worried Dane! Call someone!” By now Dexter is flipping out.
“Well I can’t find Skye! You’re not the only one freaking out so get over yourself, all right? Now I’ll call an ambulance if you promise to help me find Skye.”
“You jackass, you’re going to sit there and wait for me to tell you something I could be lying to you about? You need to get your head on straight and think about what’s going on! Call now! You can go find Skye on your own, at least let me use your phone I don’t know where mine is.”
“I can’t let you use my phone! What if Skye calls?”
“You’re so full of yourself! Never mind Dane just leave.”

They’re all standing in front of me, just waiting, waiting for my instruction. Their eyes burning with rage, rage that matches mine. Their brows damp with sweat. We must plan something soon. I don’t want them to get away a third time. I know they will if they get the chance, but we’re not going to give it to them, not with Aubrey and Zander on our side. We’ll get things done. I know that Zander will stop at nothing to follow orders; Aubrey always does what he says. Dane, Dexter, and Kimy are in for a big surprise. No one runs from me and gets away with it.

I lay here in immense pain, waiting, wanting someone to fix me. The ground below me is soft and spongy as I press my fingers into it. I’m covered with a thick scratchy patch of cloth. Where am I?
“You guys! She’s waking up! Hurry! Come and see!” A strange male voice utters excitedly. “Hurry! She’s even moving!” The voice speaking suddenly sounds…scared. “Aubrey.” That’s all I remember.
