Well.. That happened

It's been a few months now since I started Hogwarts and things are going great!

Slytherin's winning the quidditch cup and the house cup tournaments.

I've made some great friends..

Buuuutttttt... I may or may not have a crush on a Gryffindor in second year called Fred Weasley.

And it's bloody embarrassing when I'm near him, because we're actually really good friends.

My face goes red, my hair goes pink and I'm just awkward. Then my hair goes mustard yellow and I make a quick getaway.

So now I've decided to tell Charity and Liv.

We sat in our usual seats in the Slytherin Common room, doing our last bits of homework for the year. We'd just finished an epic sing-a-long to a new Celestina Warbeck song in which the whole common room joined in so adrenaline was high.

When I say doing our last bits of homework, I really mean trying.

I looked up from my parchment to the other two "I've got a crush on Fred Weasley"

They both, surprisingly, started sarcastically clapping. Charity laughed for some reason.

"You're officially the last person to know, well done" the bitch said.

Was it really that  obvious?

I sat up and voiced my thoughts, they nodded knowingly. Fuck.

"Should I-?"

"Nope. He already knows."

I groaned. Thankfully, Charity's boyfriend came over.

I haven't told you about him, have I? Well, being the prejudice pricks the Malfoys are, they have Christmas and Summer parties at their manor with other prejudice prick families. At a party one year, Charity met an honestly hot boy called Leo Avery. No, I don't have a crush on him. But he is hot.

Basically, they both like each other, their families like each other, they started dating.

He's pretty cool actually, doesn't give a shit that Liv's muggleborn and I'm a blood traitor. He's like Charity really.

But they've both got to be careful around the bitches who are prejudice, so they don't get snitched on. Merlin I hate snitches.

Snitches are bitches.

"Not interrupting anything, am I?" He asked while sitting next to Charity (Liv moved to sit next to me) and wrapping his arm over her shoulders.

I shook my head "nah" oh look.. my hair turned black. Luckily, Leo ignored it and changed the subject.

"So what do you think of Dinkley?" He asked

Charity and Liv said things along the lines of 'I love him, he's amazing' and 'he's the best teacher here' I, however, groaned.

"Are you serious?" I said, "I reckon he's a vampire and I'm honestly not fooled by his charms-"

"Makes sense" Leo interrupted, "you are a werewolf after all"

I felt my hair go white, my face went pale as Dinkley.

"W-What?" I laughed a hollow, weak laugh "I-I'm not a werewolf.."

Honestly, this is terrifying. Nobody besides my family knows that I'm a werewolf and I want to keep it that way. At least until third or fourth year maybe.

"Ren.." Charity said gently, clearly they weren't meant to ask me yet, "it's fine if you are.. we were just wondering.. " she trailed off, Liv covered for her.

"We were just wondering if you were.. Having to go every full moon, not changed at all by Dinkley.. And I saw that huge scar or bite mark on your stomach last night"

Yep, that's where I was bitten. On my stomach. How I survived, no idea, but I thankfully did.

I sighed and sat back, a bit of colour coming back into my face and my hair going back to purple.

"I-I didn't want to tell you.. It's not exactly something to be proud of, is it? Even my parents are ashamed of me at times.. I know you're my friends and I can trust you, but I didn't know how you would react. I-I was honestly scared.." I stopped talking and went red as a tomato, the exact opposite of two minutes ago.

"Oh look, what you've done Leo, you've made her into a completely different person!" Liv snapped.

"Exactly!" Charity added "normally she doesn't shut up!"

We all started laughing, a weight lifted off my chest. I hated keeping a secret from my closest friends. Now I didn't have to.

"Rennie" Charity started kindly, "we would stick with you no matter what, you know that, right?"

I nodded "I was being stupid, sorry."

Liv nodded "you were. Very. Now lets finish this before you've gotta go."

I rolled my eyes; of course Liv would go on with homework after this.

I didn't bother asking them not to tell anybody, I knew what the answer would be. Also, just so I could avoid homework for a bit more, I asked another question:

"So who's staying for Christmas?" Was that question.

"I have to leave, first Christmas party after starting Hogwarts. And Leo's staying at the manor for the holidays'" Charity said. Damn.

"I'm staying, Father's got loads of work." Liv added, from what I remembered, her Dad was working to run for muggle Prime Minister.

"Thank Merlin," I said, "I've gotta stay 'cause Mum and Dad are going Amsterdam or something and I do not  want to be stuck in the great hall talking to Fred and Dora."

Yes. I knew Fred and George were staying for the Christmas holidays. Your point?

                                                                                               ***

The next day after breakfast at quarter to eleven, me still being tired from it being full moon last night, Charity, Leo, Liv and I were stood outside the entrance hall in the courtyard. We were wearing our scarves, hats, gloves and winter cloaks while our feet crunched in the thick Scottish snow.

"Here, presents from me and Leo, you know the rules, Ren" Charity said, and with that latter statement, I had started to unwrap my medium sized present.

I put my present into my bag and pulled out two small-ish packages. I handed them to the lovebirds.

"Merry Christmas" I said. Weirdly enough, Liv had done the same thing I did. At the same time.

I hugged Charity goodbye and smiled at Leo, same with Liv. They waved and walked off to the Hogwarts express which was scarlet and steaming in the near distance.

Shorter than usual but take it
