“I can’t believe that the tour is already starting.” sighed Luke while swinging our intertwined hands back and forth.
“I know. Time sure flies, doesn’t it?” I asked looking up at him. The black button up he had on looked so great on him. I couldn’t help but think.
“Tell me about it!” he exclaimed. “But the best part is that you’ll be joining us.” He flashed a thousand kilowatt smile.
“I know! I’m so excited! And scared, but mostly excited!” I giggled.
“Wait why are you scared?” he looked worried.
“Oh. It’s just that I’ve never done something like this before you know. The tour I mean. It’s pretty intimidating.” I shrugged looking down at the road while walking ahead.
“Don’t worry, babe. I’ll be there holding your hand at all times.” He kissed my cheek.
“Even when you’re performing?” I teased raising an eyebrow and smirking.
“Well…” he thought out loud, “Not unless I have the elasticity power that guy in Fantastic 4 has.” He bumped my shoulder and chuckled.
“True.” I giggled. “So is the venue for tomorrow’s show far from the hotel?”
“Not really. Billy, our bus driver, said that it would probably take half an hour. An hour max.” he shrugged. “Here we are!” he exclaimed before I could respond. I looked away from him and towards where he was pointing. We were at the entrance of a kiddie’s park which was closed since it was around probably 10 in the night and no kids came by to play at an hour like that.
“Great! So we came all this way to stare at an entrance to a kiddie’s park?” I asked sarcastically.
“No you muppet!” he exclaimed rolling his eyes. “We’re going in!” he stated as if it was the most obvious thing ever.
“Yes, because a padlock on a gate means come right in.” I rolled my eyes. “What on earth are you doing Hemmings?” I asked, eyes wide, as I watched this giraffe of a boy climbing up the gate.
“I’m going inside, Dawson. What else do you think I’m doing?” he panted trying hard to get to the top. The gate wasn’t that high but thanks to Luke’s clumsiness he was finding it an immense challenge to get to the other side
“Oomf” his muffled voice cried out from the other side as he fell and landed on his butt in a tangled mess, making me burst out laughing.
“Just… the… oh my god… that… I can’t” I kept on laughing hold on to my stomach.
“If you are done laughing, you can join me in here.” he said tapping his foot with his arms crossed across his chest.
“I’m so sorry.” I wiped my tears away and looked at him with my lips clamped. He was still looking at me expectantly. “Wait you want me to climb that?” I asked.
“Well, unless you have the ability to fly, yes.” he shrugged smirking.
“I’m wearing a dress and stilettos! I can’t climb that!” I exclaimed.
“Remove your stilettos and toss them here. It won’t be that hard to climb! Please!” he pleaded.
“Fine! I’ll try.” I took off my stilettos and tossed them over to the other side carelessly making Luke yelp.
“Watch where you’re throwing!” he dodged the heels.
“Sorry. But it was your idea after all.” I said trying to suppress my giggles and started climbing the gate slowly and carefully. Once I made it to the top I was holding onto dear life hoping I wouldn’t fall and land on my butt like Luke did, or worse land on my face.
