We get in the elevator and ride down to the party room, we step out of the elevator and the sounds of music and smell of fine foods filled the air.
"Care to dance?" Bucky asks, I nod and we make our way onto the floor. He wraps his arms around my waist and I rest my head in the crook of his neck, draping my arms over his shoulders. The music changes to electro swing, I look over to the DJ station and see Steve smiling at us, he raises his drink and nods and I nod back.
"Do you remember how to dance to swing?" I ask, he nods and takes my hand in his and we dance.
"Remember the last time we danced?" He asks.
"The last time we danced was the last time I saw you before the war." I answer, he smiles.
"I guess this is my welcome home dance then." He laughs.
"I guess it is." I laugh back. Tony walks up to the DJ station and takes the mic.
"Can everybody hear me? Good. Welcome everyone to the Stark Tower ball!" The crowd erupts into cheers, "I held this party not only as the beginning of the annual Stark Tower ball, but to celebrate our two new Avengers! I would like to welcome Trinidad and James!" Tony motions for us to come up, the crowd parts and we make our way up to the microphone.
"Wow, uh, thanks Tony, this is such a surprise." I laugh nervously, "I am honored to be an official part of the Avengers, I've been working at SHIELD for years and I always dreamed of becoming a part of something bigger than just an agent. So when I was given the opportunity to become a part of something bigger, it felt like my dreams were finally a reality and I am so honored to be a part of the Avengers." I start to tear up and Bucky kisses my cheek and I hand the microphone over to him. I hug Tony and shake Fury's hand before I step back to give Bucky the stage.
"I really don't know what to say, or where to start. I've come a long way from where I started to now and the journey hasn't been an easy one for me. I'm so happy to be able to be a part of the Avengers and a part of the SHIELD family. I want to thank my friend Steve, for still treating me as a friend even after we were separated for so long, but most of all I would like to thank my beautiful girlfriend Trinidad, for helping me recover and readjust to 'normal' life again." The crowd cheers again and Bucky shakes Tony's and Fury's hand and comes to stand by me, wrapping his arm around my waist. Suddenly a gunshot goes off and everyone ducks, I turn to Tony to see him already in his Iron Man suit, I adjust my dress to be able to fight, I pull my gun out of my bra and get ready to fight.
