The Pact began to rekindle their assault on the bastion. To encircle the White Mantle at last in a ring of poisonous bloodstone, Antaeus was the one who set his mind to defeating the trap.

In the deep caverns below the Bastion of the Penitent, lit by cunning mirrors grew the Ivorywood gardens, the place where the White Mantletended the trees and crops, whose strange wood they used as the catalyst to harness their power and channel it into a force to be reckoned with.. The ivorywood trees, whose roots some say reached down into the very center of the earth, were tended by gardeners as sacred as priests. Every day they spoke old forgotten spells and performed the unchanging rituals that made the Ivorywood and crops thrive, as the Confessor and his Justicar's in the place above sank more and more into despair and forgetfulness

However, Antaeus had not forgotten the gardens, nor had he forgotten the ominous books he had read, and the gray paths he had walked in search of wisdom. In his chambers where none of the other White Mantle dared to seek out anymore. He began a task that he thought would be the saving of the White Mantle, and the crown of Kryta itself!
