Chapter 2

The ride to school was long and quiet. And when I mean long and quiet, I mean you could've heard a pin drop and it would've been louder than that car ride.

I glance over at Aaron and I know that there's something bothering him. We've been togther for 2 years now and I feel like I can trust him with anything. I can even tell when he's pissed at the world or when he wouldn't mind letting me drive his mustang.

I grab his hand, "hey what's wrong, something's bothering you."

He looks over at me and smiles, "It's nothing babe, I'm just stressed out over this test in Newman."

Well, AP History was not forgiving, I thought. "Oh yeah, I would be too."

And that concluded our conversation that car ride. Sometimes, I wonder what I saw in him. The tan, dark-haired junior that sat next to me had my heart in the palm of his hand. I guess I shouldn't trust him as much as I do.

We pull into the school parking lot and grab our backpacks. I walk out of the car and he walks around to grab my hand and lead me into the school.

Everyone at our school thought of us as the perfect couple. You know, that one couple that holds hands everywhere, hugs each other in the hallway, and like loves each other more than life itself. I guess you could say that's me and Aaron....but he's never told me that he loves me.

We say our goodbyes at Newman and I walk into my biology class.

Mr. East is my favorite teacher at my school, and I usually don't have favorite teachers because school is hell. Literally.

I'm lucky to have him in the morning though because we watch movies like every day about biology.

"Hey Mac, what's cookin'?" asks my best friend Jessica.

"Hey Jess, nothin' much." I say as I take my sit next to her.

Jess and I have been friends since 5th grade and she's always been there for me. My mom always told me that if I could go through high school with one good friend, I was doing good. I always thought that Jess was that friend.

"Did you hear about that pop quiz in Spanish today?" she asks.

"How did you find out about a pop quiz? It's only like 1st period."

"I have my sources, now hurry up and get your notes out so we can study," she says.

I couldn't help but laugh, she's always so paranoid when it comes to making good grades. Her parents are really strict and they demand all A's from her. My parents can deal with me getting a B on my report card.

We start studying when the door to Mr. East's class swings open. In walks the one person I really didn't want to see this morning, or any morning at all really.

Jacob Andrews.

Aaaaaah! More slow chapters yay. I apologize in advance, but when the book actually starts going, these characters are going to be important. :) Make sure you don't forget to vote, comment, and follow me on here and my twitta ----> @allisonnn5
