Hate can disappear (Lui x Shu)

This was requested by isa_and_saku. Another thing if there's enough demand I'll do a part two on this.

Shu sighed as he read Valt's text. He was 100% sick like his mother was trying to warn him he was. Shu even offered to walk him back home, since it was completely obvious. But he declined. What finally sent him home was the principal calling his mother and telling him that, yes he was sick, and yes he needed to focus on his health before anything else.

Shu didn't know if he was pissed that his friend didn't listen to him or happy he was at home. Either way it was the last class of the day and he planned on visiting him. He didn't have to, he just wanted to.

He put his phone away as the teacher enter. And as his freakin luck would have it the teacher assigned a duo project.

And it was teacher's choice.

"Lui you'll be with Shu." The teacher said

"I think I'm gonna be sick." Lui commented coldly

"Fuck you too, asshole." Shu returned emotionlessly

"Boys!" The teacher shouted sounding not angry but hurt

"Sorry." Shu apologized politely while Lui huffed

After that and the quick overview on how the assignment should works, everyone was free to start working. But while everyone got with their partners Shu and Lui stayed away from each other. Shu was starting the assignment and planned on finishing it.

Alone.

That was not going to be the case tho. At the end of class, while Shu was packing up Lui approached him which he responded pretty negatively to. He locked eyes with him and glared. Lui scoffed at this.

"Will you relax." The sharp toothed boy said bluntly

"I don't know. Did you think before you cut my eye open?" Shu responded with snark

"It wasn't on purpose!" Lui shouted

"Bullshit!" Shu shouted back

"What's going on in here?" Gabe asked as he walked in

With that Shu left. He didn't feel like dealing with him or Lui. His best friend was sick, and his assignment partner was is borderline sociopath.

He went right home and began working. While also texting Valt, who he was trying to convince to get off the phone and rest. He felt pretty at peace with this. Then someone knocked at the door. When he answered he felt his stomach twist.

Lui.

Never did he ever let his address slip at any point. And as air headed as Valt could be neither did he. Or any of his friends for that matter.

"How did you find this address?" Shu asked with a hint of disgust in his voice

"Give teachers the right excuse and they'll tell you anything. Either way we don't pass if we don't work on this.... together." Lui hesitated with that last word

Shu huffed heavily, and stepped aside. So much for doing the assignment alone. After having to calm down as to not break his front door, he walked back to the set up he had.

Shu being neat and orderly, Lui could tell what he was working on and what part was his. And for the next hour and a half it was noiseless work. Not a sound. Just silence.

Lui looked up from the work and at Shu. The albino's hair perfectly fell over his face as he read, his eyes half lidded and calm.
He looked cute.
Lui blushed at the thought and shook his head.

"Are you done yet?" Lui blurted breaking the silence

"I was done half an hour ago, I just didn't want to interrupt you." Shu stated calmly looking up

"Yeah whatever, let's get the rest of this over with." Lui said softer

Shu raised an eyebrow.

"You seem more.... Tolerable right now." Shu tilted his head

"Focus on the project, Kurenai!" The shorter blader shouted his blush becoming very visible

Shu blinked a few times then shrugged.

"Yeah, sure." He said

Only another 30 minutes of work and 10 minutes of going back through it making sure everything was in order, the project was done. Lui took his part while Shu kept his.

"We're done. And we didn't kill each other." Shu said kinda jokingly

"Yup." Lui responded as he got up from where he sat

Shu also got up, to get the door for him. For a brief moment they just kinda stared each other in the eyes, before Shu opened the door. Lui's heart rate increased a bit, which caused a tick mark to appear on his head.

"Can't believe I actually have feelings for you. Of all people." Lui mumbled as he exited

Shu was taken aback, but said nothing. At least for a moment. How often does this kind of thing happen.

"It's not a bad thing to have feelings, Lui." Shu said with gentle tone

"Stuff it." Lui quickly growled walking away his cheeks turning light red

Shu chuckled and closed the door.

"Who would've thought." Shu thought as he prepared to visit his sick friend
