Ava started to walk faster down the hall and Kihyun hurried closer to her and grabbed her hand, mentally just losing it as she looked at his hand and hers, but not moving it away.
"Ava, he gave me the low down and I won't ask anything beyond that. Feel like a movie or chill at my place? It's just down a few blocks from here." Kihyun meekly suggested as Ava's mood lifted a little. She checked her phone and rolled her eyes at the message from Changkyun asking where her and Kihyun were.
*"Where y'all at? Kihyun better not try anything with you. I'm heading out of town for work for a little bit and Madison had nothing to do after going on vacation so she's tagging along. You ok being alone for a night?"*
"After that chance encounter with Yoongi, anything sounds great to get away from the studio. I admit it got messy towards the end. But he has been trying lately to make up for it. We have to see each other in passing at work or like you saw, work on stuff together." Ava responded to Kihyun, typing back to her brother before throwing her phone in her purse.
*"I'm a big girl Changkyun, I can handle myself just fine. I'll be hanging out with Kihyun tonight by coincidence. I'll text you later on ok? Tell Madison to be good 😘."*
*45 minutes later*
As Kihyun reached his door and unlocked it, Ava was impressed with the layout of his living room.
" I didn't realize you had such a mesmerizing view of the city...” Ava trails off saying, checking out the window and watching the traffic buzz around down below before turning back towards Kihyun and glancing down at her clothes and sighing disappointedly.
"I would love to change out of these clothes and take a shower, but I have no extra's." Ava looked at Kihyun, the stress showing on her face.
Kihyun excuses himself for a moment and comes back quickly with an outfit.
"The shirt and pants are freshly washed. The underwear is new, so you can keep them. You'll have to use your..umm..bra though. The shower is down the hall and to the left." Kihyun stuttered sweetly as he handed a stunned Ava the clothes and a clean towel.
"I wasn't expecting such hospitality...thank you Kihyun, I owe you one, more than you know." Ava replied, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek that lingered for a moment before she headed to the bathroom and soon, Kihyun heard the water going.
He heard a knock on the door. Crinkling his nose at the mysterious visitor knocking, he went to answer the door and was greeted by a close friend he wasn't expecting.
Calmly sipping his drink before speaking, Jooheon smirked.
"You know who sent me. Don't kill the messenger."
Kihyun rubbed his temples as a migraine threatened to start.
"Report back to Changkyun that his sister is safe around me. I'm going to have some words with him when he gets back to town or if he video calls. Kind of a double standard because he took off with Madison and thinks he can do things, but I can't hang with his sister without him feeling insecure. You trust me with her don't you?" Kihyun asked Jooheon curiously, watching as Jooheon's jaw dropped as he saw Ava tossing her wet hair into a messy bun and looking a little startled as she saw Jooheon.
"Honey Bee, what are you doing here?" Ava skeptically asked, walking over to give Jooheon a quick hug.
"Was in the neighborhood and stopped by to say hi to this pabo...movie night or something?" Jooheon replied sweetly, watching as Ava nodded and leaned against Kihyun a little.
"You were always a terrible liar hun, tell my brother I'm good. I'm not mad at you. Catch you tomorrow sometime for a donut run or something?" Ava offered, seeing Jooheon's dimples pop out immediately as he smiled.
"Mianhae Ava and uhh, yes!?! Talk to y'all later..." Jooheon hurriedly said, waving as he took off down the hall and Kihyun shut the door.
"I can't believe Changkyun...but enough about him. Remember that question I asked in the park?" Ava inquired as Kihyun started the movie.
"Hope you don't mind "Titantic", but you wondered about the one thing I would love to do if I wasn't so spooked right?" Kihyun scooted closer to Ava and her heart started to beat faster, the butterflies fluttering like crazy.
It's like he paid attention to her more than she originally thought, she said to herself. She was a sucker for sappy romantic movies.
"Yes..." Her voice was barely above a whisper as Kihyun took a leap of faith leaning in towards her, his arm winding around her side as his lips met hers, all his feelings pouring into the kiss. As he started to pull away, he felt her pull him closer.
"Please, don't pull away. I don't want this perfect moment to end. I'm glad you took the chance." Ava managed to choke out before kissing Kihyun with an intensity that surprised the both of them. They finally pulled away from each other, their faces flush with heat and their breathing a little labored.
"Let's get back to the movie... I'll grab some water and snacks.." Kihyun quickly muttered as Ava watched him walk into the kitchen for a moment.
She felt her phone vibrate and she checked it to see Jooheon sent her a text.
"I'm rooting for y'all. But I managed to hold off Changkyun enough until tomorrow afternoon. He'll call Kihyun then...enjoy your night and be good! 😉." Ava shook her head and smiled, watching Kihyun give her a random look and sitting back down by her.
"Jooheon managed to hold off Changkyun, but I was told to tell you he'll call you when Jooheon and I are on our donut run.." Ava explained, seeing Kihyun shrug and smirk.
"I'll deal with him tomorrow. I got you tonight, so let's enjoy a chill and drama free rest of the night right?" Kihyun replied, pulling Ava close, her head laying against the side of his chest.
"Exactly." She couldn't help but smile at the sudden burst of confidence from Kihyun. Something about him changed after the kiss and she had a gut feeling that nothing would be the same after tonight.
