Before she met Mina, Tzuyu's life felt empty. She had good friends and a loving family, of course. She had everything she needed and she did experience happiness in the days that passed, but there was always something that seemed to be missing.
Every day, she remembers, she would stare out the window at the unchanging city, her eyebrows furrowed in deep thought. And eventually, she would be pulled out of her room, by her mother perhaps, telling her to eat. Or Dahyun and Chaeyoung, looking for her help in whatever acts of mischief they had thought up yet again.
If miracles were real, it would take the form of Mina. Kind. Beautiful. Talented. Mina exuded an aura of gentleness, of comfort that Tzuyu often found herself running towards.
Nothing had been more precious to her than the happiness of the girl she loved the most. Yet, she had failed to protect it.
Gripping the envelope tightly to her chest, Tzuyu tries to calm down. 'Big, deep breaths' she tells herself. With trembling hands and a heavy heart, she tears the envelope open and unfolds the piece of paper inside.
