Vex

Chapter 5

"Hello Rowan, this is Vex. My chief dragon rider (the lady with the dragon from chapter 1&2 {Avoe}) found her on the way back from patrolling. Vex here is from Machiavelli the messy's Village, her owner was beating her so hard that she was struggling to stand and she is so thin that she could probably eat a fully grown male dragon!"
"H..h..hello." Stuttered Vex trying to be polite "Hello. Y..your majesty."
After a few moments of awkward silence the king stepped forward and sat at the opposite end of the table to the queen and started to eat.
After a good ten minutes of eating in silence the queen stopped and started to introduce everyone to Vex.
"This is Prince Spark our oldest son and his twin sister Flame is sat next to him, Then there is the twin sisters Ocean and Sea, the only way to tell them apart is their hair and Ocean is always fighting something. Then there's Finn our youngest yet most academic child he is the one with the dark blue tips in his blonde hair." Stated the queen
"Flame there has a special talent as she is an all-seer meaning she can see what your thinking! However she is mute. So she tells Spark what she wants to say and he says it for her." Finished Rowan
"Mother, We are very sorry but we have some work that needs to be finished in the courts for tomorrow's new batch of arrivals. So if you will excuse us we will be getting on our way." Announced Spark with a wink to the others
"Please, take Vex with you, she is going to be a future dragon rider." The Queen asked "But first Vex please I need to tell you something."
As Vex got up she noticed the Queen looked almost sad possibly on the verge of tears.
"Vex, I wanted to just say that... well... your name... it's not Vex."
"What! So if it's not Vex what is it?
"It's something you must find out while you are with the other dragon riders, I don't think I could actually tell you, but you do actually have a higher rank than a commoner but that's a story for another time. All I have to say is your story is very sad." And at that the Queen turned and went back to her seat and continued eating "Oh Flame will you make sure that Vex gets more to eat."
"Yes mother" replied Spark.
Then all of a sudden there were pictures and words flicking through Vex's mind.
*......Vex let's go to the courts, on the way we will start explaining who you really are! It will surprise you though so just say if you want us to slow down* Then Spark was leading them down a maze of corridors and rooms, Vex had to jog to keep up as she was almost half the size of the twins!
