Chapter 31

After our barbecue- where I ate  almost all the chicken , Harry went to Answer a phone call. When he was done and came back, he was holding a white box.

"Here, I got you a new phone. I got all the information from your old phone on it.." He said handing it over . I noticed it was the latest iPhone. I had never used a phone this expensive.

"Uhh, this is way too expensive. I can't accept it but thank you very much."

"That's what makes me so upset! You never fucking listen! It's just a gift because I broke your phone!" He yelled gritting his teeth.

" I-I— T-Thank you.." I told him with a soft voice. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath.

"Forgive me. You're the most stubborn woman I've met in all my life and trust me, I've met a fair share of stubborn women.." he said his hands raking through his hair. I just remained looking at him saying nothing. He looked away and gave me a tight smile.

"I'll let you get used to it and download all your shit. I'll be in my office, if you need anything. Will you be making dinner? I know we just ate but you'll probably get hungry again..."

"I-if that's okay with you.." I didn't want him to start barking like a dog about me not following orders. I rolled my eyes in my head. He's very temperamental.

"It's fine. Please don't be scared of me. I promised to stop yelling right? Believe me."

"O-Okay" I told him with a tight fake smile. He's giving me a headache with all these fake smiling I have to do. He came closer to me and kissed my forehead.

"See you later princess.." he said and I looked up at him.

"Princess?" I voiced my thoughts and he smiled sweetly. He looked at me intently , his eyes roaming all over my face as if trying to master every detail. When his eyes met mine, he looked away and bit his lip. He looked back and spoke "Your beauty surprises me every single time. It's almost surreal.." he told me unexpectedly.

That's new coming from him. Actually, I don't give too much credit to my looks. I've been complimented on my beauty countless times -mostly by men- but I never take it into consideration because all they want is sex. Tammy tells me all the time too but I honestly find her prettier. But Nick never fails to tell me and now, Harry too. I'm actually starting to believe them...

I cleared my throat because I was actually getting uncomfortable. He seemed to snap out of his daze and stepped back. He cleared his throat too and put his hands in his pockets.

"Uh, uh.. you said I should call you something else right? So princess it is. I'll see you during dinner okay?..." he said turning on his heel and leaving.

Weird guy. Very weird guy.

I looked at the new phone in my hands and thought of calling Tammy. But I noticed she hadn't even tried calling me. I had about a dozen missed calls from Nick. I called him back but he didn't pick up.

I hope there's nothing wrong with him. I hope the business meeting went well! Oh , I forgot to book him a hotel and rent a car.. I hope he's fine..

Why you so worried? He's not your boyfriend!

He's my friend..

I can't believe I'm arguing with my subconscious! I'm going crazy!

Few seconds later I received an incoming call from Nick. I picked up immediately.

"Ariane! I've been trying to call you for hours! You said you would call me, what the hell happened? Do you have any idea how worried I was?!" He yelled on the other line and I could feel the anger through his words.
