Chapter 46

Three weeks later..

"Do you want more mangoes ?" I heard her ask. I would have never imagined her saying those words ever in my life. I smiled and nodded. She handed me a bowl of mangoes and I ate them happily.

"I loved eating mangoes as well when I was pregnant for Nick." She told me and the smile fell from my face. His name still made my heart flutter but now it also brought back vivid images of him and Cami in his office a few weeks ago. I had nightmares about that everyday.

"You'll need to talk him soon enough you know?" Nicole told me and I nodded. She was right. When Zoey and Nicole rushed to the airport a few weeks ago and stopped me from leaving , Nicole became a lot nicer to me. Tamara had told them I was pregnant so I'm guessing that's why.

"But Alyssa is pregnant as well. And I know you like her much more." I had asked why and she just smiled. " I thought that's what Nick needed but I know he loves you very much. Although you broke his heart, I know the baby you're carrying was conceived with love. Unlike hers." She told me and I just nodded because I was so confused and tired of crying that day. I had fainted in the airport and that's why they were able to convince me to stay.

I was now in Mel's house and she visited everyday. Yeah. Everyday. I refused to stay at their mansion for fear of one day running into Nick when I'm not ready to confront him yet. And I also wanted nothing to do with him anymore but Nicole and Zoey just wouldn't budge! Zach even came once. What??

I told them to give me some time to tell Nick and they did. But I felt like I was ready to finally tell him. I was anxious about what his reply was going to be. Will we get back together? What will happen?

"I'm gonna tell him." I told her and she smiled. "Yay! I'll tell him to come here right now!" She jumped out of her seat to get her phone and I held her back.

"No, no I'll do it by myself. Please let me do this. Alone."

"Okay. Sorry. I was just really excited. Um..." she said and I laughed. She was actually a really nice person.

"Um, can you, can you tell me more about when you were pregnant?" I asked her and she beamed.

"Of course! My pregnancy went really smoothly.. but I had the worst cravings ever! I would want olives in the middle of the night or Dutch pancakes when Zach was at work! It was crazy. Nick was such an active baby.. he kicked all the time! You know he used to play soccer? He was definitely practicing in there!" She said and laughed.

"Really? He mentioned he loved soccer but he didn't tell me he used to play."

"He was the best. That's all he ever wanted to be. He was gonna go pro but his dad told him he has to take over the company. I feel like he still resents us for that but he doesn't show it." She said sadly and I touched my stomach.

"Do you think it's a girl?" I asked her and her eyes widened. She had already started buying diapers and stuff.

"Definitely a boy! It has to be. These DeMorgane's have a thing for their first child to be a boy. So the tradition continues!" She rolled her eyes drinking a glass of water.

"Well I think it's a girl. I'm sure it is." I told her confidently.

"Well I thought Nick was too but he has no female feature does he? Let's make a bet!" She exclaimed. Who knew she was this jovial ? Woah!

"Bet it is!" I exclaimed with a smile on my face feeling happy after a long while.

"He's not been home for 4days." Maria told me when I came to his house the next day.
