Chapter 34

"Where we going?" I asked Nick for the nth time. He kept pulling me out of our office and ignored me. Despite him refusing that I go to work, I still dressed up and went to work anyway. I was so tired since I stayed up all night talking to him. He didn't look as tired as me though and he had shaved his stubble.

He looked at neat as always in his crisp black suit. "You're really the most stubborn person ever. I told you not to report to work but you did anyway.." he said and I'm sure he rolled his eyes.

"I've missed so many days at work Nick..." I told him "Stop pulling me will you?"

He didn't listen and kept pulling me till we got out of the building and were in the back of his car seat.

"Take us to the lake." he told his driver and the car soon took off.

"You look so tired cara. You okay?" He asked with his arms around me keeping me warm. I looked up into his brown eyes and smiled.

"I'm okay Nick. Just a little sleepy.."

"I told you not to come but you wouldn't listen. You were up all night.."

"How come you're not tired ? You look so energetic!" I asked him and he smirked.

"I'm kinda used to it. I'm an early riser. We have about 30 minutes till we get to the lake. Come sleep on my chest baby..." he said pulling me closer to his chest.

I couldn't help but sniffing him. He smelled so good!

"Are you sniffing me? Am I a dog ?" He asked and I could hear the amusement in his voice. I looked up at him and smiled.

"Yeah. You smell so good. Is it you or your shirt?"

"It's all me. I can take off my shirt if you want? You can take off yours as well so we can be 'skin to skin' " He said wiggling his eyebrows and I rolled my eyes and laid my head on his chest and tightened my arms round him. He made me feel safe and warm.

He was threading his fingers through my hair like a baby. I could already feel myself sleeping off.

I have no idea how long I slept but I could feel his warmth all over me. I pulled away from his body and found him sleeping soundly. He had his brows creased and but he looked so peaceful.

I just stared at him and admired his beautiful features. I couldn't help but touch his face. And his lips and his nose.

"You done?" He said in a deep husky voice and I widened my eyes. He still had his eyes closed though.Was he up all this while? I then realized I was on his lap. When did I get there? I tried pulling away but he held me close.

He chuckled and opened his eyes. His eyes looked a lot darker than usual and he licked his lips.

"Had a good sleep?" He asked and I nodded.

"You needed sleep as well. You look well rested. How long have I been sleeping ?"

He looked at his watch and answered "2 hours 12 minutes, 30 seconds."

"Does your watch read time in seconds ?" I asked him randomly and he started laughing.

"'No. I count when I'm bored. It's kinda a coping mechanism I grew up with. Cmon, let's go now."

"Awww, this is so comfortable! I don't wanna get up !" I complained playfully and he chuckled deeply and carried me out the car with me in his arms. I smiled on his chest and he walked through some woods before we finally reached a beautiful scenery.
