Ashlynn's P.O.V

~February~

I laid on my bed. I held my college application in the air looking to see if I got excepted.

DENIED. Read across the bottom.

I scrunch my nose in anger. I sighed. Looking at the ceiling I just thought about everything, about Max, about Jason. What he did. What everyone did. What Sebastian did. I wonder what he's doing.

I heard a knock on the front door. I quickly got up from the couch and walked over swinging the door open.

I crossed my arms over my chest. "Why are you here?" I snapped at the man with the dark brown hair that was standing on my front porch.

"I came to apologize," Sebastian said. "About everything."

"Why?"

"Because I'm your best friend well used to be at least."

"You were never my best friend."

"Yes, I was. My uncle-Keith-erased your memory so that I could but a curse on you. You see Keith is a warlock I'm well a- can I come in?" Sebastian asked.

"Okay..."

He stepped into my house. "Is anyone home?" He said closing the door.

"No."

"Okay." He squeezed his eyes shut and two, big feathery black wings burst from behind him. Feathers falling everywhere. "I'm an angel." He closed his wings behind him and they disappeared.

"Wow. So you were my best friend?"

"Yes, I just told you that!"

"We can be just friends for now," I said going for a high five but it doesn't look like he knows what it is. "Its a high five. Sebastian. You put your hand up-"

"I know what a high five is." He says slapping my hand away.

I laugh.

Then there was a knock on the door. I open the door and Sebastian steps aside.

Ashlynn was standing on the other side. "Why is he here?" She asked.

"He's my friends now. He's a-"

"Woah, woah, woah," Sebastian said grabbing my arm.

"No worries. We can trust her." I laugh and he lets go of my arm. "He's a dark angel. He used to be my best friend. I think."

"If he was your best friend why did he put the curse on you?"

"His uncle erased my memory so the Sebastian could put a curse on me."

"And..."

"And..." I look over at Sebastian.

"Being a dark angel it's like your attached to a voodoo doll. Well, I actually think you are attached to one. My uncle controls me. Sometimes. Being a dark angel isn't the best." He states. "I'm just putting it out there." He laughs.

I see Ashlynn smile. "So is this whole 'voodoo' thing like what happened to Max? Cause he apparently was forced to do it." She asks.

"Yes." He pauses. "But sometimes they can hurt you. Bad. It's actually like getting stabbed blood will actually pour out of the wound. It hurts like hell."

"Is there a way you can detach the voodoo doll curse-thing-whatever?" I ask.

"Yes but you need to find the warlock who put it there."

"Who put it there?"

"My dad."

"And your dad is where?"

Sebastian frowns.

"Oh. Is there any other way?"

"You need to find a warlock from his family... The hall of records! We can find all warlocks there. There's not much. Wait... Are you actually going to do this for me? After what I've done?"

"Of course Sebastian." Ashlynn steps forward.

"Only if we can trust you to never do what you did to me to anyone."

"You have my word." He says holding his hand to his heart.

Ashlynn and I look at each other and I nod. "Okay let's go!" I say.

"How are we supposed to get there?" Ashlynn asks.

"I did not think of that." Sebastian tapes his chin. Then his eyes brighten telling us that he has an idea. "You are going to find this weird. Don't freak out."

"I couldn't possibly freak out after what happen these last few months no matter how weird it is," Ashlynn says.

He laughs and twirls his finger in circles. A blue and purple tornado like figure forms on his finger. It flys off his finger, circling Ashlynn.

"What's your favourite colour, Ashlynn?" Sebastian asks as Ashlynn starts to float up.

"Pink or purple."

"Hmm let's go with... pink."

Ashlynn suddenly drops to the ground. Two huge pink wings came out from her back.

"It will only last a couple days. Don't worry."

"Now your turn." Sebastian turns to me. "What's your favourite colour, Max?" He says forming the blue and purple magic thing.

"Any colour."

"Hmm. You like green?"

"Yes." He finally shoots it at me. I start floating. Then suddenly drop to the ground. I had lime green wings. I look at Ashlynn.

"Watermelon!" We both say high fiving each other.

"Okay. Now the rules. 1. Don't let anyone see you with wings. 2. Do what I say and follow me. 3. Don't let anyone see you with wings." He repeats the last one. "Got that?"

We nod.

"Now how to fly. It's just like moving. Flap your wings."

Ashlynn had no problem but on the other hand, my wings weren't even moving.

"C'mon! Max! C'mon!"

My wings start flapping. I probably look really stupid in green wings.

"Okay let's go. Oh, wait wait wait wait. You need to put them in. Now focus on closing your wings."

Again Ashlynn had no problem! But I couldn't do a thing. Focus. Max. Focus. Then I felt a weird sensation like feathers brushing against my back. My wings were in.

"Leggo!" Sebastian says skipping out the door.
