Max's P.O.V

I woke up sweating. Still alive. And still in the hospital. It was just a dream, thank god we are both still alive.
"You've been asleep for a while." The doctor says.
"For how long."
"Couple days. Your dad is here to pick you up."
At that moment my dad walked in. "Hey, son."
"Hey."
"I brought you some clean clothes."
Oh jeez. I thought. "Ok," I say as he walks out.
"So have you heard about your sister?" He asks as he turns into a Tim Hortons drive-thru.
"No, what happened!" I looked at him worriedly.
"She got beat up she's coming home tomorrow."
"What!? Why didn't you tell me when we were there?!"
"Their not excepting visitors right now."
"...May I take your order..." The Tim Hortons lady said.
"Oh yes..." He orders his food and drove up to the little window.
The lady...Trisha that said on her name tag... Handed my dad the food and coffee.
The rest of the drive was silent complete silence.
"Son you're going to school tomorrow but you can't run and play football and all that jazz. Until I know you're better." He says unlocking the back door.
"But I am better."
"No no your not."

"You're going to prom!" Ember screams at me.
"No, I don't have a date. Max is still in the hospital. They won't tell me when he's coming home."
"You're still going to prom! Date or not."
"Fine... fine."
"Now what are you going to wear?"
"Ember the prom isn't until next month!"
"So we still need to get a dress before they're all sold out." She pauses. "We need to go to the mall!"
"No no."
"Please?"
"No!"
"C'mon please?"
"Fine."
"Eeeee!" She squeals.
We jump into the car and drive away.
"So umm how's max?" Ember asks.
"He's good I hope..."
"Have they told you when he can come home?"
"No. I wish. And I already told you."
"Oh right." Ember nods her head. And turned on the radio "Awkward silences." she laughs.
"Ya." is all I say as I look out the window.
We get out of the car and walk into a mall called 'the Georgian Mall'. We try on a lot of dresses 5-6 hours at the mall holy crap never have spent that long at a mall before. I picked out a purple dress that went down to my knees and Ember picked out a dark blue dress that went down to her ankles. For shoes, I picked out purple wedges and Ember picked out sliver wedges.
"Well that was fun I say as I get into the car."
"True chez." She says.
