Breakfast

The four rounded the corner and entered the dining hall.  As the door opened the delicious smell of fried meats and fresh bread drew the boys inside. Lance and Keith abruptly stopped when they glanced at the table,  a smug looking Pidge already waiting there. Shiro went to get some coffee and Matt sat next to his sister,  who never took her eyes off the new secret couple. Lance and Keith sat down cautiously at the table,  turning their attention to the two alteans chattering together.  " Princess,  I don't think that's a good idea.. " " Coran I know,  but we have to ddo something! " Lance was already bored, and was getting impatient to taste whatever was making the amazing aroma.  "WHENS IT GONNA BE DONE YELLOW BOY!" Lance shouted to the kitchen"NEVER IF YOU DONT STOP BUGGING ME! " Hunk snarkily replied" HUNK!  BUDDY!  YOURE KILLING ME HERE" Lance groaned. The door burst open,  revealing a smiling Hunk,  carrying plates piled with delicious looking foods. " Bon appetite! " He said proudly. He caught lance staring at a plate of crispy suspiciously bacon looking food.  " Aaah!  This,  my blue friend,  is the best alien bacon the universe has to offer.  I found it at the space market two quintants ago. " Lance shouted "AHA! " At Shiro,  who had doubted that Hunk could find space bacon at the market. He then fully comprehended what he had said,  and grabbed the plate,  piling the meat onto his own plate,  then passing it to Keith who happily took some. Shiro quizzically looked at Lance,  not used to him being actually nice to Keith. " Uh Lance..  Did you just act civil towards Keith? "  Lance shifted in his seat awkwardly " It must be the bacon making me feel generous is all" Lance retorted,  earning a smirk from Keith. Pidge piled her plate with golden brown pancakes,  topped with a neat square of blue butter,  and a sweet sticky syrup that drizzled messily down the stack she had made.  Matt happily grabbed a slice of homemade toast,  and slid a green yolked egg onto it,  adding what Hunk  described to be his homemade green mayonaise. He happily crunched into the bread, the runny yolk slipping down his chin,  making Pidge laugh. Shiro was the bravest,  grabbing a spiky blue exteriored fruit,  that was white with black seeds inside. Hunk hadn't tasted it,  but Coran said that it was his favorite growing up. Shiro bit into it,  eyes immediately widening at the unexpected taste,  it tasted almost identical to strawberries and cream,  making shiro finish off three whole fruits,  each one roughly the size of his fists. Coran took the specially made altean fruit salad,  and sighed happily with nostalgia,  recalling fond childhood memories to the paladins. Keith and Lance both filled their plates with the bacon substitute,  a slice of the toast,  some beans that Hunk had stored away from their last visit to earth, fried mushrooms that hunk had been growing on board the ship,  and green scrambled eggs. Lance reached for a particularly thick sausage,  making Keith blush. " Dude.. " He whispered " How can you eat that after last night? " lance laughed at Keith,  spearing the sausage on his fork,  making sure the others were focused on coran,  before  licking a strip down the sausage,  remaniscent of the way he had sucked Keith the previous night. Keith blushed harder,  unable to look away as Lance deep throated the meat,  smirking. Lance then bit the sausage,  making Keith gasp,  and the others turn to look at them. "What? " Shiro asked Keith,  looking at lance when Keith waved him away in response,  head focused on his food. Lance innocently shrugged,  digging into the plate of pure heaven in front of him. Keith laughed at Lance when he looked up,  cheeks stuffed full and a huge smile on his face. " Keith what is up with you today?  Normally you would tell Lance he was gross and leave but you laughed at him!? " Shiro asked,  one eyebrow raised. " Maybe this food is just making me more tolerant" Keith smiled raising a hand in thanks for Hunk to high five. Allura was fascinated at the earth foods,  practically inhaling a portion of beans on toast. " This food reminds me of something father used to make me when I was a child" Allura smiled happily. Hunk was eating pancakes topped with maple syrup and the alien bacon,  smiling proudly at the joy he had managed to create for his fellow paladins.  He loved the food and the cooking of the food,  but his favorite part by far was seeing his friends happy by his hand.  It made him feel important, and like he could protect his friends from all the bad things in the world. " So Keith! The mice tell me that you slept in Lance's  room last night,  why was that? " Allura asked innocently.  Both Lance and Keith spluttered,  Keith spitting orange juice across the table and Lance nearly choking on his toast.  " Yea guys what WERE you doing? "Pidge smirked,  fully aware of what  was happening " Keith he uh..  He had a nightmare" Lance replied lamely.  " That's not true,  Keith always comes to me when he has as nightmare" Shiro says,  making Keith face grow redder as he buried his face in his hands groaning. "Really? " Lance asked curiously.  " Off topic,  what was the real reason? " Shiro asked suspiciously.  " Well..  Uh..  You see... " Lance gulped. " Oh,  I get it,  they mated!  When will we be meeting the offspring? " Asked a clearly unaware of human biology Coran,  causing Shiro and Hunk to widen their eyes,  mouth dropping, Matt to continue eating,  completely un surprised,  Pidge to burst out laughing again,  and Allura to correct Coran.  " No Coran, it is biologically impossible for  two human males to make a child".  Keith got up to leave,  but Shiro grabbed his hand,  pulling him back down. "Oh no you don't,  you two are telling us everything. " Shiro said,  eyeing Lance suspiciously,  feeling suddenly oddly protective over Keith. "Whyyyyy" Keith grumbled, burying his face into a blushing Lances chest. "Let's play truth or dare to make this easier on them" Pidge suggested,  almost as if she had been planning this all night... "Fine" Keith said,  muffled by Lances chest. This was going to be a long morning.
