The opening ceremony was boring to say the least. It was basically the Headmaster giving a welcome blah blah blah don't do anything stupid blah blah you get the point. I sat with Hannah, my one and only friend during the ceremony, but we were split up when they had the freshman get into the orientation groups. I sulked to a table towards the back that an all to cheery senior had directed me towards.
My group looked somewhat small and I instantly recognized Chase, the wolf whistler, and green eyes from earlier sitting at the table I was supposed to be at. Of course they had to be there. I was immediately welcomed to the group by the librarian, who was the head of our group. Leaning back in my chair I could feel eyes on me so I looked up to find green eyes studying me. I narrowed my eyes at him, but he just smirked and looked away. The librarian clapped her hands together like an excited child and I rolled my eyes at her huge smile.
"Welcome freshman!" She shouted even though we were five feet away from each other. Everyone visibly winced at her volume and squeaky voice. My group consisted of six people, not including myself. There was Chase, green eyes, two girls who looked extremely lost, one guy with thick rimmed glasses, and a girl who looked extremely bored with a dark look. No one started and I could tell Miss. Squeaky voice was getting annoyed.
"Keira." Immediately heads spun towards me and I looked down at my hands.
"Austin Lynch." Green eyes spoke up.
"Everyone knows who you are Austin, is that really necessary?" The bored looking girl siting next to me speaks up. She rolled her eyes and mumbled something under her breath I couldn't hear.
"Shut up Evie." Chase bit back. The librarian looked conflicted on whether to interfere or not and the thick rimmed glasses kid looked downright scared. The other two girls were staring at Chase and Austin like they were candy sitting on a display shelf.
"Did I ask for your opinion?" Evie evenly spit back at him. She was calm and collected while Chase was red in the face. I leaned back and smirked, ready for the show Evie was hopefully going to win.
"Your such a bitch."
"Pretty sure that's you honey."
"At least I have class." I scoffed and all heads turned towards me.
"Do you have something to say, Kayla?" I rolled my eyes at Chase and his trying ways to get me on edge. I knew he remembered my name because he checked me out at dinner and did it again while I introduced myself meaning he was paying attention.
"It's Keira, and sorry to interrupt, but I don't think you understand the definition of class," I smirked at his narrowed eyes, "You see, someone who has class doesn't tell someone to shut up with no reason and wolf whistle at someone they didn't even know." Chases' face turned even redder and I was pretty sure I had made my first enemy at Radar Academy.
"Okay, moving on." The librarian clapped her hands together and we all watched as she smiled to big with her yellow teeth and gave us our schedules. Glancing down at mine I saw that I got dance and art as electives, that's a score, and a ton of frees. My schedule wasn't half bad, thank god. Hopefully Hannah and I have some classes together cause otherwise it's gonna be pretty boring.
"Hey, new girl, wait up." Someone called out while we were all walking towards the dorms. We had just finished with orientation groups and had a little time before the bonfire. I waited as Evie caught up with me and matched her step. "What are you wearing to the bonfire."
"I honestly have no idea, what about you?" I looked at her out of the corner of my eye. She had light makeup on with just a bit of mascara and dark eye shadow. Her figure was swallowed up with the huge black hoodie she had on and she wore black leggings and black slip on vans. Not going to lie she looked kind of emo. No judgement, though.
