*Two days later*

I sat on my bed, listening to music and repainting black nail polish over my nails. Jake knocked on the door. I shouted out 'come in' and he walked in slowly. He came and sat next to me.
"What do you think of going to the mall tonight?" He asked. I looked up in confusion.
"You don't like shopping." I reminded him. He nodded.
"I know, but you do. We're going okay. Choose an outfit now and meet me out the front." He smiled and walked out. I sighed and stood up. I walked to me cuboard and had a look through my clothing. I found a pair of skinny jeans and a black custom made 'Black Veil Brides' T-shirt. I reapplied my makeup. I grab my phone and my purse and walk out the front. Jake sat in the front of the car with his legs on the dashboard, flicking through the radio stations. I jumped in the car and he put his legs off the dashboard. He slowly reversed out of the driveway.
"What takes girls so long to get dressed?" He complained and drove down the street.
"Getting dressed." I laughed and he smiled. He passed a few intersections and a few corners when we arrived at the mall. He grabbed his wallet and got out of the car and I followed with my phone and purse.
"Don't get into any trouble." He joked and I smiled. Nearly laughing. We walked towards the mall and he was staring at an advertisements near the entrance. It was an advertisement for womens clothing.
"What? You interested in buying some clothes?" I laughed and he smiled, softly punching me in the arm jokingly.
"No, I was thinking. How do girls wear clothes that show so much skin? Like seriously, if your gonna wear that shit you might as well wear a friggen bikini everywhere." He pointed at the sign and looked at me questioningly. I shrugged my shoulders.
"I assume they are trying to get guys attention." I guessed and he laughed.
"Well I hope they aren't trying to get positive attention." He mumbled. I smiled and we entered the mall. It was full of late-night shoppers, very crowded. He stopped and looked around at the shops. "Because that's not going to attract a proper guy."
"So where to start?" He asked. I smiled and looked towards a jeans store.
"We'll go there first. I really need some more skinny jeans." I smiled and walked towards the store. Jake followed close behind and stopped near the entrance, waiting for me. The check-out-chick was checking him out alright. (That was supposed to be funny). I was looking through some denim jeans when I found a really good pair, despite the expensive price I decided I was going to buy them. I began walking to the changerooms when I was bumped and I slipped on my ass.
"Oh my god. I am so sorry." A familar male voice apologised. I looked up to see the guy from school reaching his hand out to help me up. He recognised my face and smiled. "You're that girl from school I bumped into on the first day" He wondered. It seemed like he knew but was just trying to make sure it was me. I nodded and took his hand, he lifted me up with ease and let go of my hand awkwardly.
"Sorry." I sighed, "I should've watched where I was going. And the names Hayliegh." I looked at the ground shyly and tucked my hair behind my ear.
"Mine's Blake and this is the second time I've bumped into you in four days. I probably should watch where I'm walking from now on." He laughed and wiped under his eyes. I noticed he was wearing thin eyeliner, it made him look even hotter than usual. Fuck, stop thinking like that Hayliegh. Oh, well. It's not like he can read minds or anything. I smiled innocently like I wasn't just thinking them thoughts.
"It's okay, you're perfect." I muttered quickly. Shit. "I mean, It's okay, I'm fine." I should probably stop talking before I say anything stupider. He laughed and smiled at me kindly.
"I'll just leave you alone. See you later." He began turning around, I couldn't control my mouth.
"No no no. Please don't!" I begged unwillingly. He turned and raised an eyebrow at me. "I mean, You don't have to." I corrected myself and smiled innocently like I hadn't said anything. He laughed and nodded.
"Okay then, I'll stay." He agreed, chuckling quietly. I was about to thank him but I was able to control my mouth. I quickly carried my jeans to the counter and payed for it with the money I had from my part-time job at Taco-Bell. I immediately speedwalked back to his side and smiled. He played with his wristbands and smiled at me. Jake came up to us and broke the awkward silence.
"Hey Hayliegh, Do I look younger than I am?" He asked. I shook my head.
"No. Why?" He smiled at my answer.
"That chick thought you were my girlfriend." He laughed and Blake interrupted.
"You're not his girlfriend?" Blake asked, confused. I turned to him in disbelief.
"No! He's my brother." I denied. Blake looked between the both of us, trying to find a resemblance. Jake turned to Blake and looked at him strangely.
"And who are you?" Jake stared with his blue eyes. Blake laughed and nodded.
"Oh sorry, I'm Blake. Hayliegh's... Friend from school." He hesitated as he tried to find the right words. Jake grinned and put his hand out for Blake to shake it. Blake took it and shook it firmly. Because of Jakes height and Blakes shortness, Jake seemed to tower over Blake like an adult over a young teenager. A very good-looking young teenager at that.
"I'm Jake, Haylieghs older brother." He emphasised 'older' as though he was more than three years older than me. Which was wrong because Jake is only 2 years and about 3 months older than me. They let go of eachothers hands and stood awkwardly for a few seconds, forcing me to have to say something.
"Well, Shall we move to the next store?" I suggested. Blake nodded and Jake took a step back.
"Actually... Seeing as though you have someone to hangout with. I think I'll pass. As much as I love buying girls things..." He hugged me and kissed my forehead and turned to Blake. "You hurt her and I will cut all your fingers and toes off with a spoon, feed them to you and drop you into a pit of non-venomous but hungry snakes so your death is slow." Jake threatened and innocently smiled at Blake. Blake shook his head and laughed.
"I would never, even if you threatened to drop me in a pit of rainbows, butterflys, kittens and puppies after feeding me fairy floss and icecream." Blake smiled and Jake grinned.
"I have a feeling we'll get along very well then." Jake gave him a friendly pat on the arm and turned, he walked out the door and left me standing awkwardly with Blake.
"Well he seems great..." Blake stated and I nodded slowly, beginning to walk out of the store with Blake following not far behind.
"He is, he may seem a bit um... over-protective but he's been like that since our pare- I mean- He's been like that for a while." I corrected myself, trying not to let Blake know about my past. Blake stared at me with intense curious eyes.
"Umm... Hayliegh. Just wondering. What made you do that to Chloe in science?" He wondered. I looked down at my converse hightops as I walked. The halls of the mall were filled with people as Blake and I wondered around pointlessly.
"She's a bitch and deserved it." I muttered under my breath just loud enough for him to hear it. His eyes were still filled with questions. Chloes probably gone around school saying she did absolutely nothing wrong, that she was completely innocent.
"She's told like everyone that you have been bullying her since you guys met. I don't think thats true, you don't seem like a bully." He looked me up and down. From my long black, dip-died neon pink hair to my green eyes, over my pale thin body and down to my high-top converse shoes. glared at one of the shop windows, angry with Chloe. It's one thing to call me a dog, cow, slut and whore but saying I've been bullying someone. I would never bully someone, I know the consequences of bullying. Suicide, selfharm and depression. I've never suffered any of these but I know someone who did, or who used to. He's in a better place now. My mums younger brother commited suicide when I was four. He was Uncle Dan. He was only 17 when he did it. It hurt my mom so bad that it hurts me to think of it. I shook the thoughts out of my head.
"Chloe wouldn't tell the truth if she had a gun to her head." We walked past a very weird smelling herb shop, forcing me to rub my nose.
"So what is the truth?" Blake wondered. I glanced at him and nearly got lost in his eyes but forced myself to look away.
"I can't... I can't talk about it in public. I'm sorry." I whispered. He grabbed my hand and gently turned me around, taking me towards an exit. I probably should be worrying about where he was taking me but you wouldn't understand how great it felt to have his hand in mine. We left the noisy building outside and he took me around the corner where no-one was and stopped he let go of my hand and smiled. I looked around and nobody was around.
"This good enough?" He asked and I smiled at him.
"You know I will have trouble talking about this. I might need to sit down." I said, looking towards a bench near the wall. He walked over to the bench and sat and I followed. We sat in the middle of the bench, pretty close to eachother.
"You can tell me, nobody will hear you." He assured. I took a deep breath.
"Blake, please don't take this the wrong way but I'm not sure if I can trust you." He rolled his eyes.
"I am probably one of the most trustworthy people you will ever meet. Trust me." He reassured me.
"I am going to go against everything I've tried to stop myself from doing. I am going to trust you. You tell anyone and Jake won't be the only one after you."
"I won't tell anyone anything. I don't even have anyone to tell." He promised.
"Ok. She was talking about Jake in a negative way. And then she spoke of my parents. And then she lost half a head of hair." I shortened my story and he looked at me confused.
"Wouldn't you want people to know that she was the one being a bitch? And what did she say about your parents to make you rip her hair out?"
"She told me to say hi to them for her." I told him. He raised an eyebrow.
"That doesn't seem that bad." His hands ran through his hair as he probably questioned my sanity.
"It does when she knows they're both dead." I let out my secret. To a nearly complete stranger. The only other person at school who knows it is Chloe, and at least she has the decency to not tell anyone. I just hope Blake has the same decency. Blakes mouth opened slightly as guilt flooded over his face.
"I'm so sorry Hayleigh." He apologised as if it was his fault. His eyes looked as if they were nearly having tears in them. My eyes probably looked the same, because I was fighting tears, I probably should be able to talk about it without bursting into tears every time.
"Don't apologise. You haven't done anything." I mumbled, he nodded and awkwardly sat facing me. A tear slowly escaped out of my eye. Blake awkwardly and unsurely lifted his arms and hugged me. I leaned into the hug and my head was on his shoulder. He was very still as he hugged me awkwardly. I could smell the somehow comforting scent of his conditioner. Slowly he pulled away and looked into my eyes. I was caught in his brown eyes as I fell deep down into them. I didn't realise how close our faces until he went to stand up and accidently headbutted me, ruining the moment I'm pretty sure I was imagining. He sat back down and we both cracked up laughing. He apologised multiple times during the laughter, not one time able to finish his own sentence. We both stood up, still laughing. It hurt, sort of. We slowly walked back to the shops. We walked in silence through the shopping centre. He held his left hand on his head where he had hit me. He had a slight grin on his face the whole time. I was unsure of where we were going but I was quite fine just walking with him, and maybe every now and then glance at his perfect face. Sometimes he would look at me but he was probably thinking 'If I quickly duck into this shop, would she notice I'm gone?'. I know that's what I would be thinking if I were walking with me.
"Is there something on my face?" He asked and chuckled. I shook my head quickly and looked away.
"No." I muttered. Suddenly he stopped still with a huge smile on his face. I turned and looked at him.
"Are you blushing?" He asked and I looked the other way to hide my face.
"No. I'm not blushing." I denied and turned away. Is there any way to force yourself not to blush? I waited a while until I was sure I wasn't blushing and turned. He was suddenly right behind me so his chin was just inline with my eyes. His lips were just an inch away from my forehead. I took a step back and smiled. He nodded.
"Sure." The smile didn't fade as he ran his fingers through his hair one more time. I rubbed my cheeks softly.
"So, What do you wanna do?" I asked and swayed on my feet slightly with my hands clasped together. He shrugged his shoulders slightly with his small smile on his face.
"Well, I might have to go looking for my friends and make sure they're not getting into any trouble." He looked around through the people. Oh, he was here with his friends. I just kind of figured he'd be a more anti-social person.
"Where do you want to start?" I asked, I wanted to meet his friends. He looked at me confused.
"What do you mean?" His eyebrow raised and I laughed.
"Do you wanna go find your friends or not?" I started walking down one of the corridors and he followed.
"Hayliegh, knowing them they'd be in the food court, which is the other way." He said and I turned on my heels, walking down the other way towards the food court. Blake followed behind, chuckling.
"So what do these people look like, and how many?" I asked, so I knew what I was looking for.
"You'll know them when you see them." He said and smiled. I guess I should just look for some guys that look as though they'd associate with Blake. We entered the food court and I looked around. There were families eating there food, little children running around and teenagers hanging out. But one group of teenagers stood out among the rest. Four guys sat at a table with a camera and seemed to be recording eachother doing stupid things. One of the guys had blue-black hair and a tall thin figure, he wore a turtle neck sort of jumper thing. Another one was of the same build with died red hair, he wore a black singlet and jeans. The other one was the same height and had light brown hair, he wore a red hoodie and denim jeans. The last one had dark brown hair and wore a stripy black and white singlet. I looked up at Black and he nodded, confirming that they were his friends. We walked closer and the one with the blue-black hair looked up at him and shouted.
"Blake! Where have you been? Asgard?" He laughed and Blake shrugged his shoulders. Blake sat down at the table and I sat next to the one with the blue-black hair, on the other side of me was the one with the red hair.
"I can see you've made a friend." The red-haired one said.
"Hayliegh, this is Nathan, Destery, Shane and Jordan." Blake introduced them to me. "Guys this is Hayliegh. And she's just a friend." He looked to each one as he said there names.
"Hi." I said shyly, they were all taller than Blake and very good looking. They all gave me smiles. I noticed that Destery had a tattoo on the back of his hand of the zelda symbol.
"Hey." They all chorused and Shane and Jordan went into a conversation with Blake, leaving me with Destery and Nathan both looking at me intently.
"Zelda?" I nodded towards his hand and he smiled.
"Finally, a girl who has the faintest idea of what Zelda is." He exclaimed and high-fived Nathan. They both looked at me excitedly as though I was some unknown species. I only had one chance at a first impression, lets make it good.
"So, how do you know Blake?" Nathan turned to face me in curiousity.
"He is in my class at school." I stated simply.
"Okay, so you're a friend of Blakes, now you've got four more friends." Nathan looked around at the group. He smiled and held his hand out, I shook it firmly.
"Unfortunately for you, you're now a part of our fabulous five, which is now called the.." Destery looked down at the table thoughtfully.
"The sassy six." Nathan said in an attempt of a sassy voice.
"Guys, since when did we have group names?..." Shane wondered and Destery and Nathan looked at him.
"Since Nathan and I just thought of group names." Destery snapped back in his own attempt of sassyness. Then they all laughed at his fail. I could get used to this, these guys seem really great. Blake looked at me from accross the table, he looked back down when he noticed I had seen him looking. I smiled at myself while the boys continued making jokes. I pulled out my phone and realised I had a message from Jake.
'How r u gettin home?' It read.
'Idk, i will text u if i need u 2 pick me up :)' I texted back and put the phone back in my pocket. I looked up and nobody was looking at me except Nathan, he wasn't saying anything, he was just looking, it kind of made me uncomfortable.
"So... Where abouts in america do you come from?" I asked trying to start small talk.
"How did you know I come from america?" He raised an eyebrow and I smiled.
"Well, you, Destery and Shane have the accent. Blake's Canadian. I'm not sure about Jordan because I haven't heard him talk yet." I said proffesionally. I know my accents.
"Such a smart little cookie." He commented and I laughed. I looked over to Jordan who seemed to be sort of an outsider. He didn't talk often and he looked a bit as though he hadn't known these people for long.
"How come Jordan doesn't really join in?" I ask. Nathan shrugged his shoulders and smiled.
"His only been a part of the group for a few weeks. I've known him for a long time but I only introduced him to the group a few weeks ago."He mumbled. "Jordan! Come meet... Hayliegh?" He looked at me to make sure that he had the name right, I nodded and he looked back at Jordan and smiled. Jordan nodded and stood up, he walked over and grabbed a chair from a nearby table, sitting just inbetween me and Nathan.
"Hayliegh, this is Jordan Sweeto." Nathan introduced and I smiled at Jordan.
"I'm Hayliegh Munroe." I held my hand out and he shook it.
"So..." He said shyly. I've never been good with meeting people or making friends.
"I don't know what you're supposed to say when you meet someone." I stated and he laughed.
"What did you say to Blake when you met him?" He asked, he is definitely american.
"Well actually, I didn't exactly 'meet' him. He bumped into me outside of class, or I bumped into him... Either way we didn't exactly meet until he bumped into me again at a shop here, or I bumped into him..." I wondered, it was propably my fault, I don't exactly watch where I'm walking. Nathan laughed loudly.
"I don't exactly blame you for not seeing him, since he's so short." He joked and Jordan laughed with him.
"That's so mean!" I yelled with a smile on my face and stood up. I walked over to Blake jokingly and sat in Jordans spot. Jordan and Nathan watched with smiles on their faces. They made jokes and did little love-heart signs with their hands. "Real mature." I mumbled. Blake looked up at me and smiled. "Your friends are really something." I muttered and he laughed, he looked over to the guys and chuckled.
"I guess they are. They're not always that silly though, they do have a serious side." He smiled as though the thought gave him amusement.
"I'd believe that when I see it." I laughed as Nathans loud laughter filled the room. Nathan was doing hand signals to Blake which I didn't understand. Blake chuckled and turned back to me. "What's that about?" I wondered as I giggled at Nathan.
"It's an inside joke i'd rather you not knowing." He laughed and looked down at his wristbands.
"Ooh, tell me." I said innocently and he laughed.
"Nah, it's not even a big deal." He insisted.
"Well if its no big deal why won't you tell me?" He continued playing with his wristbands and I smiled. "Well, Nathan seems really nice, maybe he'll tell me."I pushed out my chair slowly and Blake looked up, smiling defeatedly.
"All of us guys here, we are youtubers and Me, Destery and Nathan did a pick-up line video. Nathan made a pick-up line about my shortness saying that to pick-up a chick I could just tell her that instead of growing upwards, I grew outwards." He said doing the hand motions and I fanally got it. I cracked up laughing and I could hear Destery and Nathan laughing too. Shane and Jordan were laughing quietly. Then something clicked inside of my mind. Shane, Shane Dawson - Youtuber. Thats why he looks familar, an old friend had showed me a photo of him.
"Wait a minute, Are you Shane Dawson?" I asked and Shane nodded. I don't exactly know who he is but apparantly he is really inspiring and well-known.
"Of course the only one she knows is Shane." Destery pretended to be offended.
"No, I've only heard about him from an old friend." I insisted, "She really loved her youtubers, PewdiePie, someone named Cap'nDesDes, AhoyNateo, Dansweeto and..." I gasped as I realised who these people were. They all looked at me and smiled innocently. All of them fighting a laugh. Destery was Cap'nDesdes, Nathan was AhoyNateo, Jordan was Dansweeto and Blake was Blake Bliss. I am so stupid for not figuring this out earlier. I guess I had never seen a picture of any of them but I should have remembered the names. I can be so stupid sometimes.
"Who knows where I can find a mexican?!" Destery yelled randomly. Everybody looked at him strangely and then Nathan stood up, he bent over and reached into a shoulder bag he had on the ground and pulled out a mexican hat and a fake moustache.
"Who wants tacos!?" Nathan yelled out and ran around the food court with Destery following with his camera. They clearly had no shame.
"You guys, I've heard of you all before. Not just Shane." I told him and he smiles.
"Well I wouldn't be surprised if it was just Shane, he seems to be more popular with people in general. Not that it bothers me." He admitted and I thought back to all of the things my friend had told me about these people.
"My friend, she told me alot about you and your friends, though you seemed to be her favorite." I told him and he smiled, looking down into his lap, I swear he was blushing.
"Did she say anything in particular?" He asked curiously and I laughed at the past memories.
"Well she said you are really inspiring, kind, amazing, beautiful, hot, respectful, down-to-earth and she constantly said how perfect you were. I wasn't that interested. I don't even bother getting interested in guys because I know I will never have a chance. Guys don't go for 'ugly' 'fat' 'emo' girls." I said, repeating the words commonly said by Chloe. Blake blushed at the first sentence but when he heard the last two he looked up in disbelief. His whole face shifted and I looked down at the table, remembering conversation after conversation with her about Blake, what she wouldn't do to be here right now. If only I hadn't moved away.
"Don't ever think that about yourself Hayliegh. You're none of those things, you're perfect the way you are. Don't think otherwise." He promised and stared deep in my eyes sincerely. I nodded and looked away. All the guys were now with Destery and Nathan running around. "What happened to this friend of yours?" He asked and my mood went down.
"I had to move away. We lost contact." He nodded.
"Didn't she have twitter or facebook or anything?" He asked and I shrugged.
"She had a twitter and youtube account but I don't want to make another social website account ever again." I admitted and he smiled. He stood up and held his hand out. I took it and he lifted me up. We walked over to where the guys were chatting to some teenage girls. They all looked at us and the whole group went silent. As the silence drew out a smile slowly spread across Nate's face until he started cracking up.
"Is there something on my face?" I asked and they all cracked up laughing. The girls just stood there and looked at the guys strangely. While all the guys were laughing I looked at Blake. He shook his head and looked back at the group. The three girls the guys were talking to just stood there clueless.
"Girls, I'll distract the guys while you slowly walk away. Don't make noise, they can hear you." Blake whispered to the girls jokingly and they giggled. Finally Jordan had calmed down enough to speak.
"I'm so sorry Hayliegh. We aren't laughing at you. It's just Nathan is a real special child..." Then he started laughing again. I looked towards the girls for answers but they just shrugged there shoulders.
"Well anyway guys, We came here to tell you that we're going." Blake announced and patted Destery on the back. They all straightened up while laughing and each gave Blake a bro-hug.
"Oooh, back to Blake's place..." Shane and Destery chorused. Blake and I both shook our heads. Blake is sure good at picking friends.
"Whatever guys." Blake smiled and turned. I followed him towards the exit.
"So, where exactly are we going?" I asked and he smiled.
