"So you will be back home for a couple of months right before christmas you know spend time with family and all. But after the BET Awards you're back on the road."
"What we got? Uh Sweden next?" Rakim says.
"Yes," John, his manager, says.
"We got the awards and then sweden for a couple of weeks to perform in Stockholm, Oslo, you know the big cities and then to Canada in September and then last up would be South America," The head of sony music explains.
"Alright, so when are the AMA's am I scheduled for that date?" He asks.
"You are, scheduled to perform in Brazil only because we don't know yet if you're nominated for any of the categories."
After we ate we went straight to his meeting at his label, Sony Music Entertainment. I sat next to Rakim as he talked to his manager, and the head people of Sony. We were all at a huge table, one's you see only in the movies.
"Here's your coffee John, would you want any?" One of the employees comes up and whispers to me.
"I'm good, thanks for asking though," I smile making her smile, "Jeesh, ella parece triste me pregunto qué pasó.." I mumble to myself.
"What was that?" One of the guys ask before everyone starts staring at me.
"Nothing."
"We haven't formally met, I'm Doug!"
"Aaliyah," I smile.
"Are you two together?" He asks.
"Yeah," Rak says looking at me, "She's actually gonna be my plus one at the BET's," He smirks confusing me.
"I like your style kid," Doug laughs making him laugh.
"So, you'll be flying out tomorrow morning right?"
"Yeah, yeah.." John nods, "We gotta meet up with Ferg and Tyler and everybody."
"Alright, I don't want to hold you any longer..be safe, have fun not too much though!" Doug laughs making everyone in the room laugh.
We all stand up and everyone starts shaking hands.
"It was very nice to meet you, Aaliyah."
"Nice to meet you too Doug," I smile shaking his hand.
"Hey, I heard Monte at Republic wanted to meet with you."
"H-How did you know?" I ask looking over at Rakim talking with other people.
"Friend of mines, he said you turned down the offer of wanting to sign."
"Yes, I did.." I nod.
"Why? So many people would kill to get the recognition of their talent."
"It didn't feel right. Timing wasn't right."
"So what do you do?" He asks changing his position in standing.
