Gareth was the first to become aware. He lay looking at the woman curled in his arms, at the shock of black hair cascading across his chest. She had been sleeping for some time now, since the climax of the most intense sexual encounter he had ever had. Gently he brushed a lock of hair from her face, looking at her serene countenance as she slept. Beautiful in an unconventional way, he mused, the corner of his mouth quirking. He felt, with surprise, a tender tug of emotion as he watched her, replete and sated.
His mind drifted to his mate, to that ice blonde queen of the damned. She had yet to be his physically, but even now he could not imagine anything more intense, more passionate than what he had shared with this mortal woman. She sighed in her sleep, cuddling into him even closer. With surprise Gareth closed his eyes, absorbing the new feelings racing through him. After hundreds of years on this earth he was baffled by the intensity of how he felt, considering what he thought of Brianna.
Brianna, he hissed, who was suddenly fading from his thoughts, from his mind. The only woman he thought of lay in his arms unknowing, and in that moment Gareth understood his own mistake. He'd heard the lore of the Fae for so many years. Heard about it, dismissed it, and now he understood that it was true. Bewitched utterly by this woman he could do little about it. In her arms he had found his truth. He was completely, fully and undeniably in love with this fairy blooded woman......his Sariah...
Her eyelids fluttered open, her violet eyes met his dark gaze. She felt her body pulse, the ages old instinct that had brought Vampires to Fairy for millennia. Shivering against his cold body she looked deeply into his eyes, and he was undone. Gareth's mouth dropped to hers, insistent, demanding. Gasping, Sariah opened to him, kissing him as if he was a intoxicating nectar she could never have enough of.
He deepened the kiss, his tongue meshing with hers as they came together again. This time there was no frenzied coupling, but a slow burn of two bodies becoming one. Lips met skin, hands traced and found softness, hardness. And when he slid inside her they kissed, moving together, one heart, one body, one soul.
Sariah cried out as he filled her again, and they looked into each other's eyes. She had never expected to be here, never expected to want this vampire, her new lover. As he withdrew from her body she shivered again, and closed her eyes, the passion blooming within her. No matter what became of them, one thing she was very sure of. She would not ever be able to think of him the same again. Her body throbbed from the aftermath of his loving, his seed wet on her thigh. She stroked a hand down his marble arm, and was rewarded with a smile that was brilliant in its own intensity.
From this day out she was lost, her mind full of him, her body filled by him. She knew that whatever came to them, she could not be apart from him. Softly he kissed her lips and she curled back into him, exhausted yet again by the physical act they had shared. Her eyes closed and again, she slipped into sleep......
